If We Were Having Coffee…

Coffee

For a while now Gene’O has been having his coffee chats at The Part Time Monster. I’ve enjoyed his coffee breaks as well as those of others who have followed suit, such as nerdinthebrain.  Today I’m going to invite you over for coffee and a chat.

If I were having you over for coffee I would tell you that I like to do things my own way and need to change the format a little.

OK, there. Better.

So, how are you? I’m glad you could join me for a little cup of Joe. I hope you like a freshly perked, very strong French Roast. I’m currently at “the camp” in Dennis Port, MA instead of the homestead up in NH. If you’ve followed my blog I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of pictures taken within a 10 mile radius of my camp. If not you should go take a quick tour after your visit.  Here’s a good place to start.

I know, I just returned from a week business trip to Washington DC. I did spend a few days back home before leaving again. I guess it’s an August thing. Last year I think I set foot in my house less than a quarter of the days of August. On the other hand, the camp is a home away from home so I can say I’m spending a lot of time at home.

My parents, who live in Ohio, are going to stop by for a visit. They’ve been up driving around the Maritime Provinces. It’ll be nice having them in. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure there’s enough coffee for all of us. Go ahead, choose a cup.

I’ll be spending the whole week down here with my parents. I should be able to get most of my blog posts in. The only one I’m worried about is “Final Friday Frank”. I have the story planned out in my mind but not written down. I don’t want to be rude, but I’m sure everyone will excuse me for a few minutes while I crank it out.

Well, that’s about it. I’ll be kayaking, hiking and walking the beaches for a few days.  I might even take in a whale watch or go to a museum.

Hope all’s well with you. It was great having you stop by for a visit. See you real soon.

Oh, and I’m not the only one having a coffee chat today.  Stop by this page on Gene’O’s site to find others.

There’s nice and friendly, Trent ! – a sort of extension of the Friday Feast people, eh ? Maybe we should start our own coffee klatch ? [grin]

Hi M-R. It’s nice to have an informal chat once in a while. A few of the sites I follow have the “If we were having coffee” as a weekly feature. I’m not sure if I’m going to add it in weekly, but I most definitely will on occasion. Just let me know if you want to have a coordinated coffee klatch (though not this week).

Hi Joanne. Thanks! Yes, the camp is a great place to unwind and relax. The”Batman” mug is actually a drawing by Edward Gorey. If you don’t know him and have a twisted sense of humor you should look him up. There’s a little museum at his old house about 15 miles from my camp.

Great to meet you and yes, I do like French roast but not too strong! Once I stop commenting here I’m going to take a look at those pics you were talking about. Hope your family has a good visit and we get a chance to chat over coffee again. Good luck with ‘Final Friday Frank’. :-)

I was just posting on your page about my trip. I was out of work by 4 every day so I had time to enjoy the city. I was down by myself, which in ways isn’t fun but allowed me to be much more flexible with my time. I usually left straight from class and didn’t sit down to eat until almost 8 PM.

I love traveling by myself, simply because I don’t like to be on anyone else’s schedule. But at the same time it can be a bit of a bummer. Sounds like you soaked in quite a lot of the city and had some fun. :)

I had a great time. I put up a post with a little more in depth detail and quit a few pictures. If you have a few minutes and want to see what your city looks like from someone who only occasionally visits..
