Beatles and Coffee

Beatles and Coffee

Welcome to my place for a nice cup of coffee. By the layout you may realize I’m down at the camp this fine Saturday, but you may notice both a bigger choice of cups yet a smaller variety. They are all Beatles’ mugs. When I moved into the camp a discount store had these for sale for next to nothing. Why the change of picture? You can blame that on Master of Something I’m Yet to Discover. She likes the Beatles mugs and in this post about her mug collection reminded me I once promised to post them. Being someone who dabbles in a thousand things, from math to music, from physics to fiction, from computers to colored-pencils, from, well, you get the picture, I totally relate to the theme of her blog and so couldn’t resist posting these.

I’ve been here on Cape Cod since Tuesday afternoon. I worked most of the week from the camp. Wednesday and Thursday were beautiful, but yesterday was wet and cold. Today is all bright sunshine but with a cutting cold wind. I took a walk on the beach this morning and about froze. There was a 12 foot/4 meter shark washed up on the beach.  I did not take a picture of it. Thursday I posted some pictures from my after-work walk on Wednesday.

I’ve been editing my book. In the past I always started from the beginning and worked on it in order. I discovered that I often got into the story and started reading instead of editing. This time I started at the end and am going one chapter at a time to the beginning. As I go I find I’m doing less and less editing. I’ll often go over the chapters a couple of times because it seemed odd I had so little to change. Sure enough, I was correct in my initial assumption that the last half of the book was much rougher than the first half. I’m currently about three quarters of the way complete with this read through. I have a bunch of searches to perform to look for some problem words and then I’ll start from the beginning just to make sure my editing didn’t disrupt the flow.

This week I posted two different pieces of music, two different poems (one to accompany the music) and two pieces of fiction. In a way there were two photo essays: I posted a photo essay on Thursday instead of the usual Monday Media and I did a post that pointed back to my first media Monday photo essay about me ca, Albert. The current post will make number eight of the week while I usually do five or six. In other words, this was a very different week for Trent’s World. But that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? Keeping you guessing?

Anyway, I hope you had a great week. I’ll talk to you all soon. (I’m from the north so I don’t say ya’ll.)

Note – I’ve seen the “Having Coffee” posts several times, I think starting with Part Time Monster, which now is often hosted at Just Gene’O. I also see it every week at Nerd in the Brain and often on Thoughts by Mello-Elo. It’s a feature where the “host” gives an informal talk about their week. I guess I can now say that this is a regular feature of Trent’s World…

You’re going to leave here jittery since I don’t make decaf. One the back side of all of them, except Sgt. Pepper, there is a Beatles logo with the over sized ‘T’ so the White Album isn’t just plain white. The Sgt. Peppers is a little bigger so you may notice the top two tiers weren’t quite level.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw them. I bought one, got to my car, got back out of my car and bought the rest. I also picked up a Pink Floyd mug while I was at it. They’re all “remainders” or whatever – the printing is a little off on them, but it took my months to figure it out.
