We’re linked wired and wirelessly
We bound the oceans with a key
We chat with people from all walks of life
And visit the world without boundary
Overwhelmed with seven billion friends
I can truly tell this much
No matter how connected we become
We all need that human touch
Loved the poem and the drawing. Sorry it took me so long to get here!

Thanks! Yes, it’s something we all need and something that we can give to others – it costs naught but is invaluable.

Nice painting. Where I live in NH I can go a few miles north and be in Maine fore the rocky coastline in her painting or a few miles south for the long sand beaches of the Cape. I chose the Cape because of the weather!

Couldn’t of said it better myself. Shame how the broad and easy connection is slowly killing off most people’s social skills. Catch-22 I gusss.

We spend more time socializing, which is great, but we also spend less time socializing, which isn’t. Or maybe it’s more time communicating and less time interacting.

I definitely agree it’s more time communicating and less time interacting. Non verbal communication becomes non existent in these situations and sometimes, well most times, those subtleties become more important than the actual conversation.

Hello Trent, got here through the blog “idiotwriter” she did tell me to come visit here and it sure was not a let down, great writing. Looking forward to be able to explore more of your blog with more time.

Thanks Charly and welcome. I tend to listen to “idiotwriter” too. I noticed the boxers on your page – we have a brindle boxer puppy named Fiyero.

That was an interesting name for the dog. I call them my “monsters”, named Lucky(which he has everything but luck) and Daisy.
Anyways, glad to meet you.

So true. Seven billion friends, I like that line. Nice drawing to accompany the poem. Nice!

Thanks Amy! Of course a big chunk of those 7 billion don’t have access yet, but, as the WP year end report pointed out, it’s amazing how many countries our voices reach.

Thanks Ali. Yep, no matter what, from the walls of Ilium to the halls of IBM, people are people and always have been.
