A powerful push
Of gentleness
A loving caress
And a kind word
A greedy grab
For understanding
Deep inside
We’re all the same
A swift stroke
To heal
Broken bones
And broken hearts
Mock menacingly
Imagined troubles
While you help
Those truly in need
They’ll push you down
For not wanting to fight
Grab from you
For your giving heart
Strike you
When you lend a helping hand
Mock you
When you weep for others
Yet you hold the power
The key to the world
Deep within you
Lies the change for good
For you can push yourself up
And others with you
Grab the needed knowledge
To join friends and foe
Strike away your tears
So you can dry the tears of others
Mock your adversaries
By continuing to do good deeds
So remember my child
Stay true to your sensitive self
Find power in kindness
Strength in innocence
For perhaps you’ll help
Gently change the world
And share in the creation
Of a place beautiful for all
So dry your tears my child
And stay true to your sensitive self
You know, I hate that I miss these things… I wish I was omnipotent! LOL. This is really gorgeous Trent. And so very true. I dunno why but reading it made ME think of THIS poem…see how it works … I DO understand ;)

At some point in time you mentioned your daughter being sensitive and sad about something and that you told her being sensitive was a power that could change the world. This came from that idea :)

A great idea! And the reason I brought where it came from is that first poem of yours seems to be aimed at your daughter saying the same thing. Not the exact same, of course, but, well, you already said you understand ;)

Hi.. Trent..This is beautiful, so true that we need to stay in touch with the kindness in our hearts, with the feelings that help us understand others and also ourselves:)

Thanks Pranita! Sometimes the world seems to heartlessly tramples over the sensitive ones, yet in truth it is just those who do stay in touch with their hearts and reach out in kindness that can affect the world in the most positive way:)

I didn’t get a notice that you commented. WP is strange that way. Luckily I still got an e-mail.
Anyway, thanks, I’m glad you liked it! I wasn’t sure if the line you like the most is too cliche, but it seemed to fit. And it’s true, we are the same.

well some things are cliche for good reason – and there is more here that is good – but sometimes I just like to hit a highlight – and I am glad you caught the email – :)

“Mock your adversaries by continuing to do good deeds” That was a great line.
Worst deed you can do is get down to the level of those who try to bring you down in different was and play their game instead as you said “So remember my child, stay true to your sensitive self” Another great line by the way.

Thanks Charly! Sometimes it’s difficult to keep your cool and continue doing what you know is right, so the staying true to yourself is the hardest battle.

For sure is. Sometimes is hard to keep your cool, we´re just human. But great writing and an advice to keep in mind and try the best one can to follow through.
