To a Puppy Frightened by Fireworks at Night – A Lullaby
Hush Idina
Don’t take fright
I’ll protect you
With all my might
Now Idina
It’s alright
I’ll watch over
You tonight
Hush Idina
Don’t you fear
You’ll be safe
That I swear
Ignore, Idina
The noise you hear
Close to you
I’ll be near
Hush Idina
Don’t take fright
I’ll watch over
You tonight

She slept curled up against my chest all night – not a happy puppy!

Not as much as I should have. It did cool down that night so i could turn off the fans, which helped, except then little Idina got upset every time there was the smallest noise outside…..

This may sound weird but I was once like her in a different way. One day I might tell the story.

This is just the beginning – i think in a month everyone in the house will be a neurotic mess. OK, so we are already, but we’ll be even worse. I brought the little girl in – she was shivering outside, and turn on all of the fans at full blast so the sound was muffled.

Yes we do. Actually the cats were a little nervous, but not bad.

Ah; but you see, they weren’t raised by me. So they’re probably sane.
