Over the winter I was very involved in the 1000 Voices Speak for Compassion “blog movement”. Unfortunately I dropped out, only posting intermittently. Well, it is still alive and kicking with the next event scheduled for June 20.
Please try to join us on June 20! Make sure to use the #1000speak hashtag on social media. This month the main topic is just Compassion in general – share your thoughts and stories. If you need ideas, you can check out this page on the #1000Speak website.
From late January until February 20, the first major “event”, I put up quite a few posts about compassion. This post was an overview of all of the posts plus my thoughts on the posts of others.. My last #1000Speaks post was on April 20, named “Connections“. Unless something happens, I’ll have one this Saturday, 20 June.
I’ve had a personal vision of compassion that I’ve been sharing on most of my posts on the subject:
Empathy is the glue that holds society together and compassion is what makes a group of people a civilization. Without holding our hands out to our fellow humans we become savages. We are all in this together, in a closed system, so we must all help each other. How lonely life must be for those selfish people who don’t realize this simple truth! How lonely for anyone who doesn’t realize that all are our brothers and sisters! How lonely must the self-righteous be!
Find out more about this movement. See the 1000 Voices Speak blogsite and the Facebook page. And add your voice to our 1000 voices all speaking about compassion! See you then!

I had one written on compassion and then realized it was on connections. I am not sure I can think of anything else to write about.

Actually my last 1000Speak was about connections – sometimes they can be the same thing.

I think I will do this again. Thanks for the reminder Trent.

Great! I have no idea what I’ll write about yet, but obviously the more people writing the better.
