I’m getting ready for my first weekly smile!  Are you?  I decided I need a logo, sticker, graphic or something similar to go with it.  I did some sketching and this is my favorite so far.  What do you think?  Note – what you see above is NOT what was first there, I changed it.  I think this version works better.

Here is the original “Bold” version.  It still looks a little too, well, i like the top version better for this project…

I just put this up – it isn’t colorized as well as the others, but I want you to look at the design.:

(I just removed this one.  It isn’t X-Rated ;) but it is very very ugly and even if you like it, I don’t.  I’m leaving this placeholder up since i told a few people to look)

      During my lunch break I have sketched out a new design. I need to put it in the computer and colorize it, but I think it’s the one. However – It looks much more like the Joker than this! I had the idea before and threw it out because it was too much like the Joker, but, hey, I’d rather people think the Joker than something that people don’t discuss in polite company ;)

      Thanks Solveig. The first one I removed was like the thinner version, but I erased the line at the ends of the lips to try to make them shorter and so more mouth like, but it seemed to do the opposite, at least according the feedback. I put up another for a short time, but i hated it so pulled it down.

    I am giving you an A+ for the bravery of asking for input, and being so gracious about it too, I will reserve any judgement until you put up your new samples – seems kind of pointless to do otherwise at this point. :)

    May be late, may be outvoted but I didn’t find the top one with the taller lettering too bad at all.. I didn’t like the lower one with squashed lettering and the smiley emoj below the lips at all.

    Can I be honest? I do. It like either – but only cos you asked – the top one feels too female and I dunno – both just seem like a sexy smirk and. It really what the challenge is about – just thinking out loud – but I do like your sketching

          Maybe. I have a few ideas, but I’m not sure I’ll have time to work on them before this Wednesday, so I might be forced to do that at the beginning anyway!

      Thanks Norm. When I tried more smile and less lips what i came up with was very creepy, like people might be afraid to turn their backs on there screens… Hmm, still might have to try again….

        What about a hand-drawn version of a smiley face emoji? Make it look like something drawn by a kid: friendly, innocent, innocuous… (Like I have ANY idea what I’m talking about over here)

        I confess, that I had to have my attention drawn to the x-rated possibility to see it. Don’t min me, I am rather stupid… My advice would be: take your time; you do not have to be in a hurry and have everything perfect and ready for THIS Wednesday. Try until you feel you have foound the right thing. Do not put pressure upon yourself and keep trying until YOU feel pleased. :)

          Good advice :) I really like the design, particularly the new top one, but I could kind of see the more x-rated possibility and wanted to be sure before I posted it. I didn’t want to post something as part of the series and then have everyone in the world say they are offended! Thanks.

    I like the bolder one better. :) I love the lettering and the little smile and the layered paper look, but the first one (please forgive me, please forgive me, please forgive me) brings to mind something other than a smile. :D

      Oh no, unfortunately I thought that about the bolder one, which is why I made the other, thinking it was less so. I guess not. Hmm, don’t want my blog to be rated as adult only! I might post a totally different picture later tonight. I might also go back to the (literal) drawingboard….

      OK, I just put up 2 more images, one at the top (a new variation on the bold) and a new one at the bottom. What do you think? Do you like either and will people still have x-rated thoughts?
