This is my weekly smile, a chance to just smile for no other reason than it feels good. If more people smile more often I believe it can have a positive effect on the world.
This week I smiled because i got a chance to play and record some music. Any musician, writer or artist out there knows how freeing it is to have a good chunk of time set aside to feed your creative side. It renews the spirit, feeds the soul. It makes me smile. The little ditty I did is pretty silly, but it was fun. You might even smile listening to it (Hint – it is based on a poem I did for my old A Smile a Day).
I also smiled after talking to my parents over the weekend. I talk to them a lot and nothing real new came up. They talked about what is happening in their lives, plans for the future and just life in general. The thing is, with all of these celebrity deaths recently, well, they were all younger than my parents, even Celine Dion’s “older” husband. It is nice to call and hear that they are relatively healthy and active. That they get out and participate in the community every day. That they travel and have hobbies. It makes me happy. It makes me smile.
f you haven’t seen it, here is a little background to The Weekly Smile as well as some quick guidelines.
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the linky. While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!
Note – we have the graphic link-up back!

So good to get some time to be creative – great reason to smile. And I love that you thought of your parents’ good health and active lifestyles as a good reason to smile.

Being creative always makes me smile. I don’t write on myblog about the people in my life very often, but of course they are there. Just a slight reminder :)

The best smiles are the ones we don’t expect or might not even notice, like a phone call or doing something we like to do. I think we sometimes forget that a lot of things make us smile, we’re just too busy or distracted to notice them!

I do have a lot to smile about but when I go to write these posts i stop and scratch my head. So yes, doing the everyday, the normal and the enjoyable. The weekly smile doesn’t have to be something new and huge :)

It’s nice to hear you still have your parents and they can make you smile with just a simple, everyday life conversation :)
Mine have been gone for years and it is a rare day that I don’t think about them.
Hope the rest of the week continues to make you smile :)

Of course I take my parents for granted 99% of the time, but i do know so many people who no longer have theirs that when I stop to think about it I always feel blessed. I hope you have a lot to smile about this week too :)
