Weekly Smile Week 22 – #weeklysmile

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

I know, I’ve been missing for a week.  Do you want to know what I did?  Well, I’ll tell you about it anyway :)  I went to Ohio to visit family.  We had a little reunion of sorts, as we do every year.  Both of my sisters and my brother were there.  Most of the kids were there.  At one time we had 30 people at a cookout/barbecue.  That number included a couple of people who are family in spirit if not blood and missed a couple who couldn’t make it.

I really don’t have time to write much – as soon as I finish this I have a week’s worth of work email to dig through so I have to be very brief.  The long story short, a good time was had by all.  I spent a lot of time talking to family members.  I spent time doing stuff with them.  We talked nature, books, movies, writing, art, science, technology, travel, the past, the future, the present and all sorts of other stuff, including even those taboo topics of politics and religion.

I’m glad I don’t have to see them every day, but it is good to see family face to face instead of by phone, text or computer.

So that’s my smile for this week: Family.

What made you smile this week?

If you haven’t seen it, here is a little background to The Weekly Smile as well as some quick guidelines.

So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!

I am glad to see you back but I am glad you had a nice time with your family.
Yes, siblings and parents may go very quickly and what should remain should be only the good moments. No more of this.
There has not been much to smile about with The Little Family those past weeks and I had work to do and less time to spend on blogs. I hope it will change back to reading you and other blogger friends more regularly. :)

Thanks, it’s always nice to have a little get away as well as spend time with family.

I hope you find more to smile about with your little family soon. I know you have two blogs to take care of now, though I haven’t had a lot of time to read either.

I’m glad you had a good time. Sometimes we put off seeing family, thinking they’ll be there forever. They won’t. I wish I could see my family more often. It has been a whole.

It was nice to see everyone. I spend a week with my parents every August and I had most of last week, but I know they won’t be around forever – they’re both in their 80s. And I know enough of your story to know that it’s possible to lose siblings before their time and even the young folk. So I really enjoy the time I spend with them.
