Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

I’ve been on a late summer vacation.  Sure, there have been issues like a tropical storm (though watching the thunderous waves was cool.  Maybe pictures to come…).  There have been other bad things.  But my parents are here visiting from Ohio.

For the most part it has been very laid back.  We do a long walk on the beach in the morning and an afternoon walk in the woods, but other than that we don’t have too much on our agenda and just do what we feel like doing, even if it’s nothing.  Last night I had a fire in the firepit and we’ve done other things.

Anyway, that has been my week and my smile for this week – having my parents visit for a vacation on Cape Cod.

What made you smile this week?

If you haven’t seen it, here is a little background to The Weekly Smile as well as some quick guidelines.

So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!

Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning.  I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST.  I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder.  People can and do join throughout the week.

Late summer breaks are great. We actually didn’t take any trip this summer. No one had any money to take a trip! Now summer is over. I’m going up to Seattle to visit with the baby who will be 4 months next week. I haven’t seen him since he was a month old. This week will be pretty slow until Friday comes along and I can drive up there. That will bring me lots of smiles, I’m sure.

We’ve been doing a late summer break every year for quite a while, long before we bought this cottage, and my parents have been joining us for about 8 or 10 years. Besides that, only business travel and quick trips to see family.
I’m sure your trip to Seattle will bring a lot of smiles. Are you staying long?

Oh Trent, I should have linked the post I just published to your page!! I’m grateful for my lemon scented gum tree in my garden and my daughter’s horse. I know they sound like a couple of very strange random things but they both gave me joy today. Enjoy the rest of your week. :)

It’s not too late since my Weekly Smile runs Wednesday to Wednesday ;) Sometimes those simple things, or seemingly random things, are the best things, the things that cause us the most joy, though, of course people and horses aren’t “things”. Have a great week!
