Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large (Beatles) mug of a very Strong French Roast or a cuppa tea. It is a gorgeous fall day out there. It was chilly this morning but is warming up nicely. It is short sleeve weather and possibly even shorts, all under a fabulous blue sky. And where are we? Some of you may recognize that pyramid of Rock and Roll greatness known as “The Beatles” as being down at my cottage on Cape Cod. Yes, two weeks in a row.
Work was, well, work. Busy, busy. A lot is going on and with the new Fiscal Year, a lot of worries. It should all work out, but I see some stressful times ahead….
The first half of the week i was up in New Hampshire. I did a lot of the NH things that I do – I played in the woods with the dogs (the woods behind my house is almost vertical, a real work out to run around in!), I ran, I exercised, I walked, I cooked and ate, I read, I wrote, I… you get the point. It was nice. I do not watch TV (ever) and wasn’t on line very much, but i still felt like I had too little time to do what I needed to do.
And then I came down here. I’ve been reading a lot, I’ve been kayaking, walking in the woods, walking on the beach, reading some more and then I read a bit. I’ve been out most of the morning and will kayak, play on the beach and walk in the woods this afternoon. And I’ll read ;)
As you may know from my Wednesday post or may guess from what I said above, I am on a blogging break. I will try to do two posts every week, the Coffee share and the Weekly Smile on Wednesday. I won’t be reading much – I average between three and five hours a day reading blogs and it is too much! So going down to zero feels like the weight of the world has lifted. I didn’t realize how much it was until I stopped. I still have no time to do what I want, but… And, as you saw in the last paragraph, I’ve been using most of me new-found free time catching up on my reading. I still have a stack of books to the ceiling and beyond patiently waiting…. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to get back into other things, like music (I haven’t played or recorded seriously since March), writing (now that I have feedback for my book of short stories from most of my beta readers I need one last draft before I send it out to be edited), drawing (very remiss!), photography (I have over 1000 photos I have not looked at, including all of the pictures I took during my week vacation in early September) and all of those other things I “need” to do.
So, for blogging this week, I posted a Weekly Smile reminder on Sunday and a new Weekly Smile (#40! about my blogging break) on Wednesday. That’s it, that’s all she wrote. I’m sorry, all I wore and I’m male, so that cliched phrase didn’t work, did it? Maybe I need a break…
Anyway, the water is screaming my name, “Trent! Come out and kayak on me!” I’m going to have to get moving soon. It was nice seeing you! I hope we can catch up more later. Perhaps I’ll drop by your place.
That’s it for me this week! How was your week? I hope it was good! If you do a coffee post I’ll try to catch up, If you don’t do a coffee post, perhaps you should consider it ;) Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you soon!
The Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Part Time Monster (note that the site has changed!). You can join this week’s Coffee Share on her blog or by clicking on the “Linkup Linky“. In fact, I encourage you to click on the “linky” to see what’s been going on in the lives of other bloggers and even join us if you haven’t before

Thanks Corina! I have been enjoying it. I spent most of the weekend on cape Cod, which is always very relaxing, and that helped me get into the swing of non-blogging :)

It beats working around the house, which I should have been doing ;) When I’m not working I try to do the things I enjoy, creating a little slice of heaven on Earth :)

It’s true to be able to read books I have also found the need to downsize the amount of time on the internet

Yep – When I’m reading that’s all I want to do so downsizing time on the Internet is mandatory!

When we read real books we get inspired and have more to give out. But I find it difficult to keep my eyes off the internet

I sit in front of computer all day at work so when I’m not there I can easily pull away (not that I do ;) ). I’m also not huge on using my phone unless I’m sitting, waiting someplace and get real bored. But then, I often use those times to write storeis in my mind or figure out problems, so my phone doesn’t get much use.

You are giving time to yourself. That’s a pretty good time spending if you ask me. More often than not we are so engrossed in other stuff in our lives that we forget how much downtime we need. Although I’m a bit sad that we will see less of you here but I’m so happy for you that you are enjoying your time! Have a wonderful week ahead Trent❤️

I am giving myself a gift of a little more time and don’t feel guilty at all :) We all do need some downtime, even when we don’t realize it. I won’t totally disappear and I won’t be gone too long – I’ll miss all of my friends here too much! I hope things are going well on your end – have great week Zee! <3

There is nothing to feel “guilty” about giving time to yourself anyways. You deserve it. And I’m glad to know you won’t completely disappear from the scene and still give us your glimpse from time to time , hehe!😉 have a great week yourself too Trent ❣️

Everyone needs a break. When writing becomes work, the fun goes away. Hurry back!

Everyone does need a break. It has been nice not to worry about it (not that I realized I was worrying at the time!) and just go do my own thing. I’ll be here off and on and I’m sure the break won’t be too long.

It’s been nice to get out. Of course it’s raining today (I’m sure it is there too), but it’s been a nice get away.

Good for you to be outside in great weather. Ours has been hot and occasional rain the past week. Thanks for coffee with your cool Beatles mug!

It’s rainy today – moisture pushed up the coast by Matthew – but I’m still enjoying my “get away” feeling even if I can’t spend as much time outside today.
I hope you’re having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Taking a break has work for me. Since I don’t have as ma y ARC demanding I read them, I have time to read some of the ones I want to read and read few more blogs. Have fun exercising and aying with the dogs.

I’ll continue to pop in and out to read some of the blogs I like, but I do need the break. I think everyone needs a little time off and on.
Have a great weekend.
