Season’s First Turtleneck!

selfie-10-25-2016

I have written that I wear turtlenecks pretty much from October to April.  When I say that, I mean almost exclusively turtlenecks.  Have you noticed that even though I post a lot of pictures from the beach or from a kayak almost all of my selfies have me wearing a turtleneck?  I even wrote post about it.  Last year, on Tax Day (April 15), I wrote about the last turtleneck of the season.  Well, today I wore my first for this season!  Sure, it is very possible I will wear something else coming up in the next few weeks.  In fact, I see warmer weather on the horizon.  However, from now until the end of March I guarantee that if you catch me at random it is more likely that I’ll have a turtleneck on than not!  OK, at random means when I am awake and dressed.  Smarty.   So it must be officially mid to late autumn – Trent is wearing a turtleneck!

We’ve had a few very cool days here. And I do need to get some new “long boots” – I have hiking boots, but when the snow is about a meter deep (new snow, piles a couple of meters) I really, really need something more!

So, when do you usually pull out your long coat and long boots? You’ll have to do a post about it ;) (yes, I like mundane, inane posts sometimes). :D

They are not considered high fashion! So, yeah, I’m a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to my turtlenecks. Not many guys wear them around here except for skiing, and even skiing these days you don’t see as many as you used to.

haha well someone has to keep the old stuff alive and well. glad someone is holding out the fort for turtlenecks.
I have a sweater that most people don’t particularly find fashionable, but it is so comfortable to me that I pretty much always wear it anyway. it is gray.

When I was in marching band in high school a dickie was part of the uniform. Yuck. If I want to wear a turtleneck, I want to wear a REAL turtleneck, not a dickie, not a mock-turtle (sorry Steve Jobs, it doesn’t cut it) but a real turtleneck ;)

Well I knew he had the mock turtleneck and he chose it for his look – and I think of this at times when I am wearing a similar style and when I do not want crazy variety – I think we can have A plain signature look if we want.

But I did not know Steve wore “dickies”
Or that is what I thought you implied !

You explained it to me before – I just forgot –
                    There are dickies –
There are mock – and then there are real

Who knows – I used to be a date master ! Seriously – I knew years to songs and events and “years” were my thing

But I think with some blog commenting I might need to have the memory stirred up!
                      Who knows !
