Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile
It’s been a weird week so far and I haven’t gotten half as much done as I wanted to. There are some large stones that I put into the jar first so at least I got a few things done (I don’t have room to talk about that time management paradigm). One of the large rocks I literally lifted was exercise. OK, that pun didn’t work as well as it should have, but still, I have been forcing myself to make time to run and to do weight exercises. The thing is, it makes me feel great! I never understand how “ungreat” I feel until I get back into the routine. It takes a week or two to get back into it, but once I do I can’t figure out why I stopped (this time I stopped because i fell of a cliff, but that’s another story ;) )
I don’t know if it was because i was feeling great or what, but I’ve written a lot over the last week. I have posted three stories on line in the last week, including my slightly risque post game story (I mention it because I posted it at a time when nobody in the world would have seen it, right at kick off of the Super Bowl). I’m also almost 6000 words into a story that will top off at about 8000 words. Yes, I sometimes crank out stories like this in a few hours, but with this I’ve been getting into the bad habit of going back and changing large chunks instead of just spitting out the story as a first draft and rewriting later. What that means is that I’ve written almost 10,000 words since Saturday but have erased/replaced almost half of them. Still, four different stories, one much longer than usual, in a week isn’t bad even for me who cranks them out.
This week I’ve smiled about exercising, which makes me feel great so that my mind opens up and puts my into a place where I feel creative and write a lot, including writing huge, meandering sentences. OK everyone, breathe ;)
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!

Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.

Well done on writing more – exercise does seem to keep a person clear-headed.
Keep on exercising :)

Exercise does keep me clear-headed, something I don’t always recognize until I start exercising again. I wrote two more stories, though 100 words, yesterday, so 7 in a week…

I’m the same with exercise, I just feel more ready and invigorated for writing when I’ve had a good walk or a good jog in the morning!

Thank you …. I’ve never drawn a correlation between working out and creativity, but you’re right! It must be all that extra oxygen going to the brain :)

I’m not sure if that’s it, but it makes sense to me. The better shape I’m in the more creative I get.
