Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile
OK, I sound like a broken record ;) And for those below 40, I’m talking about how an ancient vinyl thing that used to hold music would skip and sometimes repeat the same thing over and over. End of history lesson ;)
Anyway, I am, of course, talking about the weather. After the coldest March ever and a large snow storm on April 1, The April Fool’s Snow Storm, spring has sprung! It was over 80 F/27 C the last two days! Buds are budding and flowers are flowering. I’ve seen daffodils and crocuses. On Sunday, before the “heat wave” I took a few quicj phone pictures (I always try to get spring’s first flowers):
and
Oh, the grass where the second picture was taken is now green.
So that is what I am smiling about. I wore shorts! I went out without a jacket of any type.
And on Sunday, I put away all of my sweaters and turtlenecks and took out all of my spring/summer clothes. I have said in the past that when I put the turtlenecks away, winter is over. I even had someone at work comment on the season when she saw me turtleneck-less :) (See here and here)
Spring is here. Outdoor activities are full swing. And I’m smiling.
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!

Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.
What a pretty flower!

They are.. The crocus are the first flowers out around here, but they don’t last long. These were gone in just a couple of days.

They’re pretty while they last, though:) And the daffodils that followed them are still around.

Spring unfolds pretty slowly around here, but the grass is now green and there are some flowers. It is nice after a hard winter (though only March was harsh this year).

We had Spring for a couple of days as well – but yesterday and today it is cold again! :(

I don’t see any sub-freezing point temps in our forecast. It will cool down quite a bit, but back to what it is supposed to be for this time of year.
Anyway, I hope it warms back up for you and that you have some spring days soon!

Funny, after the 80+ degree days, the crocuses are all gone but we have daffodils, so even more springlike!

I don’t mind winter, but I think it needs to observe its boundaries and stay away from late March and April ;) Thanks!
