Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile
In the last few weeks I’ve posted quite a few photos from my new camera on Facebook. Yesterday I took a quick shot of the sun setting across Swan Pond, the small body of brackish water that is about 100 yrds/meters from my house. Yes, there is a landing there were I launch my kayak.
Anyway, so I took a quick phone photo and posted it to Instagram and Facebook. It’s OK, but the real thing had so many colors that my hone didn’t capture, shades of purple, etc. I have rarely received as much attention for a photo. One person said it was the best photo I’ve taken in a while – a person who saw all of the waterfall and Cape Cod photos I’ve posted recently. And it’s a phone photo…
What do you think of it:
So my second smile of the week is the great reaction that a phone photo gets…
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!

Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.
It’s amazing how good phone cameras can be these days.
Wonderful photo.

Thanks! I’ve had this phone for 4 years now. It does great with big wide-angle/panorama shots, but is awful for anything closeup. Not a portrait camera…

What a beautiful shot! You’re lucky to live near such a beautiful pond. And even without “technicolor” that shot is simply stunning. Sometimes we get the best photos without trying to.
