If We Were Having Coffee on the 8th of July!

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong French Roast.  Or is it Sumatra?  I think, actually, it’s a mix of the two, but it is still good!  or a cuppa tea or something else.  It has been an almost perfect week weatherwise.  OK, yesterday was rainy, and the week started off hot and humid, but most of it was what summer days are supposed to be like.  Cool at night (58 F/14 C) and pleasantly warm during the day (85 F/29 C).  The house stays perfect in the 60s, getting up into the 70s some days (last weekend it was almost 90 F (30 C) in the house.  With the 100% humidity….  Anyway, it is great now!  And where is this nice, summer weather occurring?  Some of you may know that the picture at the top was taken in New Hampshire.

It was a weird week.  I returned to work on Monday, only to have Tuesday off.  I spent a lot of time catching up and the rest of the time trying to get my mind back into work mode.  Ouch.  That is difficult.  But I did get quite a bit done.

I didn’t do a whole lot to talk about.  I’ll admit that I spent most of the week making a video to promote my upcoming book, The Fireborn.  I haven’t played on my musical instruments much lately, so it was great doing the music.  I need to take a week of just playing!  Maybe two…  I did most of the artwork for the video when I was on Cape Cod last week, but did the animation with the artwork this week.  And then I put it together and…  Well, take a look and tell me!

(Click here if you don’t see the video)

I did a lot of dog walking this week and some stuff around the house.  I went into the woods and, well, actually I spent most of the week playing with the video ;)

It was a weird blogging week.  Views were strange.  I think a lot of it was people on vacation, but I had more views from 8:30 PM last night to 7 AM today than I had the entire day yesterday up to 8:30 PM!  Just oddball things like that.  Usually when my views go wacky it means WP is about to make “improvements”.

With The Old Mill being done, I felt at a loss on what to post.  Well, almost ;)  I did do a Weekly Smile Reminder on Sunday and a new Weekly Smile on Wednesday.  I also did a Friday Fictioneer story on Wednesday and a #writephoto story on Thursday (actually a continuation),  Late on Friday I put up a very short story, more of a scene than a story.

I spent several hours reading The Declaration of Independence and a lot of words that have been written about this important document.  I decided to do a post on it, but it turned into a rant.  I do not like to get political on the blog, but felt I have to on occasion.

And then I did two promotion posts.  It has been a long time since I have brought up the book Seasons of Imagination.  Since 100% of the sales for it happened the first two or three weeks of it being out, I felt it couldn’t hurt.  It didn’t.  Of course it didn’t help, but that’s beside the point ;)  I also put up the promotion video for The Fireborn.  or did I say that already ;)

Well, since I spent most of the week of perfect weather working on my studio tan, I feel I need to get out and enjoy the weather!  I did take a long walk at 7 this morning, but need to get back out again.  I also have to mow my lawn and do other work around the house.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend.  If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by your place and see what you’ve been up to.

The  Coffee Share is now hosted by Nerd in the Brain. (This will soon be moved back to it’s original home at Part Time Monster). Thank you Emily!  You can join this week’s Coffee Share on her blog or by clicking on the “InLinkz Linkup.  In fact, I encourage you to click on the “linky” to see what’s been going on in the lives of other bloggers and even join us if you haven’t before.

Thanks! I did the video and all of the graphics, but someone else, Belinda, did the cover for Seasons of Imagination. She’s working on a cover for this one too. She’s really good.

Sometimes videos on the screen can do that. Thanks. And thanks for the offer. When I’m about ready to put it out I may see if any can reblog the “release party” post.

Messing up my count in the plus direction is always a good thing ;) I try to stay busy. My dad is in his 80s and still does more in a day than most people and, although i don’t do 1/10 the good int he world that he does, he inherited the staying busy part.

Always good to see you back, Solveig!

    Hi Trent,
It is seriously late here. Had a sneak peak at your video but everyone’s asleep so will try to get back tomorrow. I really liked those dramatic storm clouds. They’re very appealing. Could well encapsulate the last couple of weeks for me since losing the dog and trying to get the kids sorted. It’s been hard but busyness propels me forward and there’s always something to break the me, make me laugh, smile and yet moments where Bilbo should be there and the empty space echoes and resonates. I’ve never lost a person I live with and that must be excruciating.
School holidays here so I’ll be needing a holiday next week.
    xx Rowena

I have lost a couple of “pets” (furry family members) and know it can be very hard. I had just opened up your coffeeshare, so I’ll see what you’ve been up to in more detail in a few minutes.

I hope you enjoy the video once you have time to turn up the volume!

I try to get stuff done, but usually not real work ;) I guess I’m slightly ADHD and don’t like to do nothing. Also, the TV has not been turned on all week, not even for the news.

Thanks! I took the storm clouds a few weeks ago out of my window. When I was thinking of the order of events in the video, I remembered the clouds and decided they had to be in there!
