Cape Cod Late June 2017

I was on Cape Cod for a week in late June of this year.  As usual, I took a ton of photos.  I finally got a chance to dig through them.  There were just too many ;)  The hard part was weeding them out and picking my favorites.  Not always the best.  For instance,  I like this Osprey with a stick:

Osprey with stick

Not as good as the photo at the top of the page, but I like the stick.  I actually took a few photos of osprey with sticks, and some with fish, but most didn’t come out very well.

Or this picture of an owl.  It’s not great, but I NEVER see owls!

Or this of a seal with its mouth open – not a great picture, but I love it.

Here are the ones I chose to include.  Some are technically better than the ones I showed above.  Some have odd reason for being here, like a photo with two different types of Egrets in one shot.  As always, click on a photo for more detail.  Once a photo is open, you can scroll through them.  Enjoy!

Thanks. The osprey are so fun to watch, and, as i said, i saw several of them flying around with sticks. With this one, I have a series of shots where he (she) was breaking the stick off of a dead tree, but none of the photos were very clear.

It’s more than just beaches. Of course, there is a lot of wildlife on the beaches too, from shorebirds to seals. Even when a lot of people are visiting, there are always quiet little corners.

Thanks Zee! As a photographer (or at least the camera nerd side), that is one of the lessons that is often hardest lessons: sometimes the best pictures aren’t technically the best and the pictures that are technically the best aren’t always the best photos.
