Hello and Welcome. Come in out of the cold and I’ll get you a nice steaming mug of very strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa piping hot tea or perhaps some hot cocoa. It seems that winter has returned. Actually, it was cold last night and won’t get very warm today, but it will be the next few days that will be the return of January. I’m talking 8 F/ -13 C. The good news is that they have removed the next Nor’easter, set for Wednesday, off of the forecast. I hope it stays gone! So where are we? Some of you may realize by the photo that we are in New Hampshire again today.
So we had another storm on Tuesday. Yep, another 18 inches of snow. There was a dusting over night into Thursday. I think we’ve had more snow in March than the rest of the winter combined. Hopefully that’s the end.
Work was pretty busy. A lot going on as usual.
For some reason I have been on an early Genesis kick this week. By “early Genesis” I don’t mean “In the beginning…”, I mean “Trespass”, “Nursery Crimes”, “Foxtrot”, etc up to “Wind & Wuthering”. Not sure why, but these albums have been on my play list all week as well as watching Youtube videos of early concerts. Maybe I’ll get back to this century sometime soon…
This was democracy week in town. I told you about attending the school meeting and vote last Saturday. On Tuesday was town election. There were three ballots, one with changes to zoning laws, one with town officials and one with school board etc. – our school district has another town, so it is separated out from the main election. Because of the storm and the fact that I am within walking distance of the Town Hall, I counted votes. I’ve done this a couple of times. I think it is super important to participate in Democracy if you can, both in voting and in volunteering for the ugly jobs, like counting votes. Thursday was town meeting. This is again pure democracy in action. An article is brought up. There is a lot of arguing followed by a vote. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it this year. I’ve been the last few years. There was a relatively high turn out and there where no controversial issues (most years there is one issue that divides the town, but not this year) so my absence wasn’t a terrible thing.
I don’ know what else to say about this week. Snow, dogs, work, democracy, writing, reading, blogging, eating and sleeping. Pretty standard.
With that I am sure you realize that I’m about to sneak out and do some other stuff. It was nice to have you over! I’m glad we could chat, though I’m sorry if it was a little one sided. if you have a coffee share, I’ll try to be over and we can remedy that situation – you can talk all that you want to.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in! Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :)
I hope yall get some nice spring weather soon. Here everything is starting to bloom and the temps have been nice.

Not this week – we’re going to have another storm tomorrow! but hopefully soon. I did see some of the photos you took and thought, “I really don’t want to live in east Texas, but perhaps being there in the Spring wouldn’t be so bad” ;) I hope you are doing well :)

Thanks. Are you still in the middle of winter too, or have you hit spring yet?

We have wonderful sunshine…but it’s freezing cold. Still, we don’t have your amounts of snow! :-)

The snow is going away pretty quickly, despite the temperatures. There is a big field I run with the dogs that is six inches deep, but the hill sides are all clearing.

I’m hoping it will be here soon. I like winter, but it has become an unwelcome guest.

It snowed here for 2 days but in a few days it is going to be 60. That will be nice. Right now it is 23 degrees F. I typed a coffe post. You inspired me to write one.

We had mid-70s for a few days in February, but then it got cold again. After the next few frigid days, it will be in the mid-40s, which will be close to normal, if a little cool.
Glad you wrote a coffee post. I’ll be by soon to read.

The seasons seem to have moved. You still have winter and we still have summer. You could do worse than early Genesis. I like participating in democracy as well. If you don’t go then you can’t complain about what happens. My week sounds similar to yours. Not a lot happened other than usual stuff. Hope you have a good week ahead.

The seasons have seemed to change. Unfortunately, we had Spring in February, so all of that has been erased… Just odd weather all around. Glad you had a good, if quiet week. have a great week coming up!

We also had quite a bit of snow this past week – but not as much as you! Hopefully the end is near …

No snow on the horizon here, so hopefully we are there…

That sounds like a pretty decent week :) The coffee was great! I’m a little jealous about the snow. I’m thinking about driving up to the mountains tomorrow to do some snowshoeing. We’ve had rain here all week. I’d much rather have white, clean snow. Happy St.Patricks Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I do like the snow, it’s just that winter was supposed to be over ;) I do complain about the cold and shoveling, but over all it was a pretty good week.

Still not back in the forecast, so hopefully that means it is not going to happen. Yep, I think everyone is ready for spring.

I hope that’s the end of snow for you too! Dogwood trees are blooming here in AL though it’s been chilly. Ok 40s isn’t really chilly unless your northern blood has thinned. Like mine.

Looking ahead, after a frigid day tomorrow, it should be in the mid-40s this week with no snow. Hurray, we’ll be back to only a few degrees colder than we were through most of February ;)
