If We Were Having Coffee on the 31st of March, 2018

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea (various kinds) or other beverage.  It is still just a little cool and there and the wind is strong, but it is looking like a beautiful day!  And where are we?  Some of you may recognize the Beatles mugs as being on Cape Cod.

I have been out a little this morning.  I’ve played with the dogs twice – they love being out!  The run, fight, chase each other, ask me to throw stuff for them and then run some more, before finding a nice piece of wood to chew on while sitting in the warm sun.  I also went down the the beach.  It was cool and very windy, but nice.  On the way to the beach I was stopped in a little traffic jam.  A bunch of locals were crossing the road.  Overall there were about 30 of them.  They weren’t in any hurry and seemed to get irate if you tried to rush them.  I stopped and took some pictures.  Most of them ignored my, though a handful yelled at me in chorus whenever I turned their way.  They said “Gooblegobblegooblegooblegooble!”  Here is a picture of some of them strutting their stuff:

This is with my phone.  i had my real camera and got more, which I’ll post another day.

I think it is finally spring!  I think it was Tuesday that I saw a crocus!  In New Hampshire!  Here is proof:

I’ve been on Cape Cod since Wednesday night.  The sunrise over Swan Pond on Thursday morning was gorgeous.  It clouded up in the afternoon and sprinkled off and on Friday.  But here is what I saw (another phone photo):

Can you tell that there was a mist over the water?  The closer land is sharp, but it is hazy in the distance.  It was far prettier in person.

I took a short break from work at noon on Thursday and kayaked for a half an hour.  It was great!  i wish I could have been out for two hours!  Looking forward to kayak season.

Other than that, the typical.  Work was very busy.  I did some exercise.  i wrote.  I edited.  i played music.  Long walks in the woods.  Typical week.

It’s getting close to 9:30, which means I’m wasting a beautiful day being inside!  I need to go out and do stuff.  I’m glad you were able to stop by.  It was nice chatting.  If you have a coffee chat I’ll try to stop by.  Have a great weekend!

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in!  Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :)

It has been great to be outside. Funny, I have missed the last two coffee posts – in fact, I have posted like 4 times in the last two week… Burt I have been outside ;)

Thanks! I have a cottage on Cape Cod and spend as much time there as possible – typically 9 or 10 days a month except June and August, which are 15 days or more a month… It is very pretty!

Your lake picture looks stunning. We also had fog in these parts which is unusual. Pictures don’t do it justice, perhaps if one is armed with more than just a smart phone camera… Thanks for coffee… ;-)

Thanks Sarina. I did get some photos with my “real” camera, so I’ll have to see how they came out. I hope your weekend went well and you have a great week ahead :)

It was gorgeous. I’m hoping the pictures I took with my camera did a better job capturing it. The turkeys are cool. I do see them crossing the road on occasion, but rarely such a big flock. And this was in the middle of Dennis village. I’m sure you are farther along in spring than we are so I’m surprised that your gobblers are still in hiding while those on the Cape are out as bold as day.

It looks very peaceful there, Trent. Well, except for the turkeys. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a turkey in the wild (or suburbs as the case may be). As for spring, I’ll let you know if it ever arrives here. The snow is gone, but now we have the freezing rain. I think it’s a plot by the gas company to keep our bills elevated.

It is very peaceful. Even watching the turkey stroll trough the middle of the village was peaceful. It was early and there weren’t very many cars about and I was the only one on foot (I parked so I could take pictures.) I hope spring arrives there soon! Looking at my bills this winter, I tend to agree about the conspiracy… Have a great weekend!

Yuck. we will have some warm days this week, but there is also the possibility of snow coming up :( I’ve seen snow as late as mid-May, so I’m worried, but… Where (generally) are you that’s so delayed?

I grew up on the shore of Lake Erie – west of Cleveland. It is spring there and we always had a nice fall. but Buffalo – yes, I can see why it’s still winter! When the wind is from the west, you get snow and more snow!

Most of March was awful, but it has changed over this last week. Even though we’ve had snow up until a week ago, the warm late March sun burns it off (except for the huge piles every where!)
