Spring is in the air
A cliché of nature’s law
Whirl, shimmy and shake
I don’t need season’s mandate
To jig when I think of you

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge. The key words today were “Dance” and “Command”. Following her suggestion, I didn’t use the words, I used only synonyms.

Thanks. I do love watching the egrets. And, obviously, photographing them.

I like the “shimmy and shake” because it’s a very good description of what they look like when they are shaking off he water!

What’s funny is that I wrote it and then looked for a photo to match the words. This was the one, perhaps because they do shimmy and shake.

They all went to the Cape ;) I see a lot of the little snowy egrets. I don’t see as many of the great egrets. The great egrets are also a lot shier, so don’t let me get as close with the camera. Thanks :)
