Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of very strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea, or other beverage. It’s an odd day. Cool but not cold. It started sunny and felt great, but it is now cloudy and feels cooler, even though the temperature has gone up a degree or two. Where are we? Some of you may recognize that photo as belonging on Cape Cod.
I guess the place to start talking about the week is saying that I was sick. I don’t get sick often. It started with a scratch throat on Monday evening. Tuesday it was worse, and worsened even more during the day. I couldn’t get comfortable that night and slept like $#!&. Wednesday I felt pretty awful. I wasn’t sure if it was from being sick or from not sleeping well since Friday. Most likely a bit of both. Again, it worsened as the day progressed and so I decided not to do the three hour drive down here, to Cape Cod. Good news is I slept OK Wednesday night and so felt better Thursday. I did drive down here Thursday evening. Being in bed without various animals keeping me up, I slept even better Thursday night and felt even better Friday. By Friday evening my throat was a little scratchy again, but I slept pretty good, even though dogs did join me (no cat keeping me up, though). Today I feel much better, though my throat is still not 100%.
Yes, I did work while I was sick. It is a good/bad thing about telecommuting. My days were jam packed with meetings that I was leading, so I couldn’t afford to be out. So busy, but we got through.
Yesterday afternoon I took a long walk in the woods. I saw quite a few osprey, as many as I’ve seen on walk of that length. They were very active! I got a few shots, though it was terrible weather for photography. But it was great seeing them! And I took a long walk on the beach this morning. i saw a couple of deer as I pulled into the parking area.
Hey, the sun just came out again! It feels really nice when the sun is out. I think it will be like that off an on toady. A bit of sun, a bit of clouds. Maybe a little windy for kayaking, but we’ll see. Anyway you look at it, though, I want to be outside as much as possible! And so do the dogs.
With that, I’m dropping off. Thanks for stopping by for a visit! If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in! Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :)
Get well!!

You too. It is a beautiful day for it here. I overslept and missed the town cleanup, but maybe I can catch up with a crew and celebrate the day by making the Earth better in a small way…

I hope you are feeling better, too. We’re improving. I actually can breathe tonight. I was really loving your “rubber soul” cup. Reminded me I have the remastered DVD in the car and I need to listen to it again :-)

I’m much better, thanks. I picked up several Beatles mugs a few years ago. They are seconds (there are small flaws) so they were dirt cheap. I wish I had picked up two of each, since I broke one and chipped another. But they didn’t have Revolver! That’s my favorite…

Glad you’re feeling better overall.. Hope the throat is better now. I use Dark Sumatra in my coffee Blend (Dark French Roast & Dark Sumatra)… The hubby goes for the stronger “SuperDark” at Sprouts Farmers Market and I’ll use it as well if I don’t have any of my blend ground up and am feeling lazy.

I’m feeling better, thanks. I used to drink just French roast, but found I like Sumatra better. i sometimes mix them as well, though usually it is pure Sumatra mostly because I like getting the largest bags (cheaper), and 1 large bag fills my container I use to store the coffee I’m using. If the small bags are on sale, two bags fill it and so I’ll do the mix. Yes, the things I do to literally save a buck ;)
I hope you’re have a god weekend and have a great week!

Glad to hear that you have been feeling better, Trent. … I learned recently that some of the raptors I’ve been watching in our neighborhood are eagles. I think they’re hunting the neighborhood’s wild rabbits. Lovely to see them overhead. Best wishes for the coming week!

I love watching birds of prey. Eagles are opportunists and will eat just about anything, small mammals like rabbit right up there, but most of the ones I’ve seen go after fish.
Thanks. Yes, I’m feeling a lot better.
I hope you have a great week!

I believe their nests are mostly along the rivers, here, but residential neighborhoods in the older parts of town, as well as along the river, often have gardens and wildlife.
Thank you, Trent! I am optimistic about the week.

Sorry you’ve been sick. I’ve had a scratchy throat of and on for weeks but never anything more than that. I’m up in Seattle this weekend so I’m really glad I wasn’t sick for the drive, also 3 hours!

Do you get allergies? Sometimes that does it. I had a runny nose and congested chest and all of those other things that go along with being sick.
I hope you have a great week!

I might not be ablt to get the photos up in the next week, but I’ll try to get them soon. Plus the ones I took today of two immature bald eagles fighting over a fish… Thanks, I am feeling a lot better today, so I’m sure the worst is over.
Have a great week!

I love watching the osprey. Today I watched two eagles fighting over a fish – very cool. I doubt if I’ll have time to post photos this week, but I’ll try to get some up as soon as possible.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope your weekend is going well.

Me too. Any BOP is exciting to watch. What kind of eagles did you see? Looking forward to the photos. Weekend is going great so far.

Edward Gorey was an illustrator who had a very dark sense of humor. There is a museum to him at his birthplace, which is about 10 miles from my cottage on Cape Cod. The mug came from there, the Edward Gorey House. It’s one of my favorites.
