Magic in your eyes
Cast a spell to transform me
Mold me to your whim
Harden the abstract concept
You entice me to pleasure
– –
I am your shadow
Captivated by sorrow
A frame for darkness
I carve your form in my mind
Wishing to fill it with light

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge. The key words today were “Enchant” and “Shape”. Following her suggestion, I didn’t use the words, I used only synonyms.
This week I decided to do two. They’re small ;)

It looks like Avalon, rising from the mist.

It is easy to get lost in the moment and feel as if it is as remote and magical as Avalon. Reality always intrudes. Eventually.

Excellent, the photo choice works very well too.

Thanks. I often don’t know what photo to use, so I scroll through the ones I’ve previously posted until one jumps out. This one jumped out for these poems.

Thanks Corina. That was my original idea, but the words came out wrong, so I did the first to clear out those “wrong” words.

I’m loving these Tanka. They work well together too, making a longer version of your thoughts. Well done! <3
