If We Were Having Coffee on the 17th of June, 2018

Coffee in NH with Moog

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of very strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage.  We’ll take them out back onto the patio and sit and admire my new grill ;)  The house is relatively cool, but it is perfect outside.  Fr now.  It will get hot this afternoon, though not terrible.  Tomorrow… well, they are saying 97 F/36 C.  If it is humid, it will be bad.  And were are we?  Some of you may recognize that photo as coming from my place in New Hampshire.

backyard

The photo is of my backyard this morning.  the view from the patio looks up into the woods.  It looks like we are a million miles from anybody instead of in the middle of town.

I usually post my coffee share on Saturday.  OK, Saturday I woke at 6:15, fed cats and dog and then took the dogs out for a long walk.  I got back had breakfast and then took the dogs outside so they could play.  Then I went running.  After my shower, I had to go pick up a few things, including the new grill.  I had car issues.  Maybe more about that later..  I had a late lunch and then did a few things with the car.  When the car was, I hope, healed, I started playing with the grill.  I recently put together a grill, but this one seemed to have a lot more pieces.  I don’t remember doing the wiring before…  It wasn’t hard, just time consuming.  I let the dogs out to play once.  After it was done, I cleaned up and did a few things inside for 15 minutes.  I then fed the animals, picked up a few things and then another long walk with the dogs.  When I got back it was time to make dinner.  And then I turned on my computer and did some editing for the rest of the evening.  Yesterday was my least busy day of the week…

Yeah, this was a busy week.  It isn’t all bad, but it meant I didn’t have a lot of time.  Typically my social media goes first.  No FB or Instagram and limited blog time.

I am almost done with editing The Halley Branch.  I am going to send it out to a few people for proof reading on Monday.  I have pushed back the release date (good thing I never told you ;) ), so it should be out in late July.

Thanks for stopping by!  It is always good to have you over and chat!  If you have a coffee share i will try to stop by for a visit.

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in!  Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :)

Well hello, Trent! It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by, but I’ve been feeling particularly bloggy this weekend. Your view looks nice…so green! 97°? Whew! Then again, the summer humidity has already set in in DC, and it will only get worse. Sounds like yesterday was really busy…it’s good today was a bit more chill.

Hi Britta, it’s always nice to see you. Yeah, I like the DC area, but I doubt if I could live through a summer there! New Hampshire is very pretty and, as you see, very green in the summer. I’ll be on Cape Cod next week. Since it is out in the water, the tempatures are a bit more stable – they will hit a high in the mid-70s as everyone else will be in the mid-90s!

      Have great week!

I complain about the humidity, but it seems I’ve adjusted–when I went to NYC in May, I was freezing! I guess I expect everywhere to be humid in May now that I’m used to it. :) Have a good week as well!

You have a very nice view from your patio. My view is not so spectacular – pretty much houses on all sides. However, if I go out into the street I do have a nice view of a mountain peak in one direction and a decent view of a far off mountain range in the other.

I need to get back into writing. I really do miss it. OMG! The heat. It’s supposed to be close to 90 today in the DC area and it’s on 10 am and already humid. Not looking forward to summers in DC again. 🔥hot. Good luck with your edits.

Well, I'[m having toast and coffee with you as I’m reading this morning. Love that back yard! I wasn’t really aware that New Hampshire got quite that hot, but everything seems to be changing concerning weather these days. We’ve had temps in the high 90’s, with heat indexes above 100, so I try to stay out of it as much as possible. Unfortunately, the air conditioner went out in my car a couple weeks ago, and that’s really a bummer. Ah well, fall is just around the corner — at least that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself.
Hope your final editing on the book goes quickly. I know that feeling of having it almost complete, but not quite. You want to get that thing finished and out there, but you keep double-checking things just to be sure …… :)

NH sees extremes in temperature, but it hits 100 maybe once a year. Luckily we have been having cool nights, so it is still comfortable in the house – I hate those heat waves in August when the house is 85 degrees, or more.

And yeah, only three more months until Autumn! I’m looking forward to it ;)

I had planned on having the book out by the second week in July, so I’m not too far off. but when i send it out for proofing my schedule relies on other people.

      Have a great week.

Car issues are never fun,but at least I know what is happening – it was awful when I had people from the store standing around waiting so they could help me load the new grill!

Thanks for stopping by! I always enjoy when you visit. have a great week!

I can relate to your time priorities during a busy week, blogging and social media goes first. I think that’s a most sane and sound choice. Even though we miss you of course :)

It sure sound like you’ve been very busy. We have about the same temperatures. I didn’t know New Hampshire got that hot. Learning something new every day :) I just looked at a ten day weather prognosis for our area, seven of the days had three digit temperatures…me not like that a lot, but I did choose to live here…for now. My mornings are so precious this time of the year. I try to get outside by the latest at 6am.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

New Hampshire sees extreme in both hot and cold. We have 4 full seasons, which is great! We might see one 100 degree F day a year and maybe a couple of dozen above 90 F. The nights have been cool, so it is comfortable inside of the house – I keep the windows open all night and close them during the day.

I added the photo you saw on Instagram after you read this – it is easy for me to do it that way. I wanted people to know that I said sit on my patio, this is what they’d be seeing!

I really like places with four full seasons. It sounds like you have a rather pleasant climate.

I did feel like we had the coffee there :)
