Destroy All Evidence

PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

It was a great invention and I stole it fair and square.  I just had a few things I had to do.

The first was to find a buyer.  I thought about one of the big three, the US, Russia or China, but perhaps a smaller player like Israel or a surprise buyer like Pakistan would be better.

The second was to test the prototype.

The third was to get rid or the real inventor, Dave.

I could combine those last two.

Luckily it worked as advertised, disintegrating all organic material.  Unluckily there was more to Dave than organic material.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist doing a second one.  Also sorry that the story only works with the photo.  I often forget to add descriptions to photos for vision impaired people.  I need to get into a habit of doing it…. I hope you enjoy.

Although I wasn’t thinking about it at the time, I guess you can use the old song “Murder by Numbers” as the sound track to this (I thought of it because of the line “You can turn murder into art” and you saying the murder was an artist). Thanks!

When I was a kid, I read this line somewhere- all assassins are artists. I don’t remember which book it was but the line stayed with me. It’s kinda sinister, dark and cruel I know. But, when I read the line for the first time it compelled me to imagine a ruthless assassin out on a killing mission

That’s the thing with writing, trying to see things from a completely different perspective, including taking something dark and sinister and making it into art. As long as we don’t bring it to true life, it is fine ;)
