I just had a reporting of a sighting in the wild! Take a look at this photo:
Notice anything? One of the books, the smallest one, is “e Fireborn” by Trent P. |. Hmm. Could that be “The Fireborn” by Trent P. McDonald”?
This photo was taken (by my sister) at the Vermilion Public Library in Vermilion, Ohio. Of course I do have an “in” at the library and my “in” submitted it, along with “Seasons of Imagination“, as works by a local author. Of course I haven’t lived there in more years than I admit to being alive, but I did graduate from Vermilion High School.
So, since it will soon be in libraries everywhere , or perhaps just library (singular) in some small town, I guess I sort of, almost, made it. So why don’t you pick up a copy (US paperback, US Kindle)? Or perhaps get a copy of The Halley Branch sine the Kindle version is now available for pre-order (here). The Halley Branch will be officially released on Tuesday 7/24.
That’s amazing! Congrats! I had a few libraries pick up my clients’ book as well. No in though. Just hard PR work haha.

Thanks! Funny thing, I live across the street from my local library and haven’t approached them yet. I think I will after The Halley Branch is out.

Whaaaaat? You really should! Libraries love local authors. Many will also ask to set up book signings, writing sessions etc.

Yeah, I know, I should have gone over there a while ago. But with the new book coming out, I guess I no longer have an excuse ;)

Yes, now you have a new reason to do it. I think they might even be more likely to go for it, since you have more than one.

Yesterday I ordered one of each of my books just for this purpose…

His Alexis – I had a nice talk with the head librarian and she said the books will be in the new book display for a few days before going into the “Local Author” area. Also talked a little about the possibility of doing an author’s talk at some point. So when yiou wanted to know how it went, I have to answer “It went great!” :)

Awesome! Thanks for keeping me updated. I’m so happy for you! Now, I’m going to push you to try this with local book stores haha. They also often have a local authors section!

That is really exciting! The result of an ‘in’ or otherwise, this is a reason to celebrate!

Thanks Joanne. “In” or not, it is cool.

Congratulations, Trent. The “in” helps. Too bad they can’t move the labels higher or lower!

Thanks! Yea, I know, but at least the important word of the title is still there, as is my first name. I’m not sure how long the “New” sticker stays on.

Yes, Trent, I don’t know if libraries have a standardized schedule to display new books. I’m sure many people would look for new ones.

I’m not sure how long they keep things in the “New Book” section, but it is cool that it is out therefor at least a while and not mixed in with the other 10,000 fantasy books.

Yes, I think the libraries encourage people to check out the new books.
