Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. We can go out back and and sit on our brick patio and contemplate the hillside. It is a lovely morning so there is no reason to be cooped up inside. Oh, were are we with a nice woods view out back? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

This is one of those weeks when I look back and don’t remember anything. Work was busy. Some good news there, but also some setbacks. I did several training courses, which was good.
Tuesday evening was our local Lions Club July cookout and meeting. It was nice.
I received a proof copy of The Halley Branch, found a bunch of changes that needed to be made, uploaded them and retrieved another proof copy. I made a couple of small changes, but will wait until it is out (on Tuesday!) before ordering a real copy to see the changes These were very minor that 99% of people would never see…

So yes, The Halley Branch will be out on Tuesday July 24. If you want to pre-order a Kindle copy, look here for the US, here for Canada and here for the UK. If you are elsewhere, go to Amazon and search for “The Halley Branch” and you will see it.
Oh, did you see that my sister saw The Fireborn in the library in my home town, Vermilion , Ohio? Here is a photo. It was sitting with a other new, incoming Fantasy books.
I have been playing a lot of music this week. When I say “playing”, I mean with my hands ;) First, my dogs have gotten into a habit that they don’t start eating when we feed them until I start to play the piano. I have them sit, make sure I have eye contact, and then say, “OK, free dog!” They go over and eat a bite then look at me. I can see it in their eyes, “Where is our dinner music?!” I have also been spending a lot of time with my electronics.
And exercise, and walks outside, and walks with the dogs, and dinner outside, and… yes, a typical week ;)
Thinking of outside, I am inside typing on a computer! I need to get out! Thanks for stopping by for your visit! It was nice chatting, though it was mostly about me. If you have a coffee chat I will try to stop by later and then it can be all about you. Have a great weekend!
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in! Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :
My order was placed the day you said it was available :-)

Thanks! There are a handful of pre-orders and I’m sure yours is one of them :)

That has to be a cool feeling to see a picture of one of your books at the library. Beautiful picture of a nice backyard. I am laughing about the dogs and the music that is too funny.

It is cool. NH is so green. I lived in Texas for a short time, and I’ll take the green any day ;) The dogs are funny. To be truthful it is more the routine than the actual music, but it is funny.

We have had very little rain but believe it or not we still have to mow every 6 or 7 days lol. The grass and trees still look good but the garden is toast from the heat. We will replant seeds again for the fall in mid August.

We’ve had a lot of rain the last couple of days and it looks like we’ll continue to get more :( I’m sure I told you – I lived in the Dallas area for a while. I think there are other areas in Texas I’d rather be, but I have family there. But I do like New England, tons of snow or not ;)

Dallas is usually hotter than here lol.

And it was hot! Not that 90 at 90% humidity (here today) is cold!

How did you train your dogs to love classical music? or they are natural? May you can record your piano playing and post the video or audio on your blog.

One thing that is great about my dogs is that they are not picky about genre. They love Beethoven, the blues, scales, random notes played while I read something else…. ;) Their food dishes are by my piano. A little over a month ago one of the dogs wasn’t eating so I sat down and played until she ate. I did it a few meals in a row, and so it became their routine. The first time I fed them and didn’t play, they just stared at me until I sat and played. Funny critters….

How funny, we don’t have dogs now. Had them before. I’d love to have dogs like yours. :-)

Lucky dogs to get dinner music! Sometimes it is so obvious that THEY train US!! I know my Pepper had me well trained. Great post as always. I hope you get some good outside time. And congrats on your upcoming book!!

My dogs have trained me. With the dinner music, I did it a couple of times and it became routine, so now if I break that routine… It doesn’t matter what I play.
Thnaks! I hope you have a great week.

Your garden is so green and lush. It hypnotizes me every time you post photos of your place. It looks wonderful :) It’s so exciting with your book. I think this time of the year is great timing as well, when people take some time off to enjoy summer. Good thinking. Thanks for the coffee!

That is one thing I love about new England is how green the summers are. And the garden is beautiful, as are the woods behind. I ate outside every day this week, soaking it in.
Thanks! I hope it is good timing. There seems to be a little more excitement about it than my last one, so hopefully people do pick it up.
Thnaks for stopping by! Have a great week :)

You have music loving dogs! I don’t know why but that makes me smile.
I’m looking forward to reading The Galley Branch this week. It might take me awhile to get through it but I’ll definitely do that!
Enjoy the weather.

I don’t know if the dogs love music or just me playing the piano ;) it doesn’t matter what I play for them – Beethoven, blues, scales, random notes, etc., as long as I am there playing.
I hope you enjoy the book! I know you’ve read rough copies before, so shouldn’t be too many surprises.
have a great week!

It is always exciting to see one of your own books in the library, Trent. A great catch up.

It is, though this was sighted by my sister. There is a library literally across the street from my house and I haven’t talked to them about my books yet. The can expect a visit after I have The Halley Branch in hand ;)
Have a good week.

You have to love a dog with music expectations. This is great!

It is funny, However, as I said to Willow, it doesn’t matter what I play – Beethoven, blues, scales, random notes, etc., as long as I am there playing.

It’s hard to be cooped up inside on a nice day in the summer. Go outside. Frolic 🙂
… btw, I just came inside from being outside … on my bike. I’m sweaty and need a shower 😉

I hope it was a good ride! I stayed busy and did a walk in the woods (I don’t call it a “hike” unless a mountain is involved ;) ). So yes, a very nice summer day. Tomorrow, though, may be awful…

Sadly we don’t have any mountains, but yes, I too don’t consider a walk as a hike unless there is some climbing involved.
Today we are getting some much needed rain … the long slow kind that’s needed most.

I grew up on the shore of Lake Erie (a bit south of you ;) ) and know that there are no mountains any place in the region ;) It’s raining here as well. Oh well, I did get out yesterday, so…

Today is a stay indoors kind of day. My plan is to embrace my creative side with a canvas and some paints 🙂

Sounds great. I most likely will be more on the music side today than the visual arts.

It is fun to see – I’m going to be in that town in October and may have to stop by the library just so i can see it in more than pictures.
Thanks!
