I used to do a weekly “Media Monday” post. I’m not sure what happened to it. Well, I do. One thing you most likely know is that I take a lot of photos. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to go through photos. I have about 2000 photos that I’ve taken over the last three months that I have not looked at. Anyway, the osprey chick and osprey butt at the top of the page is a sample of some of the photos I have taken without going through. The eagle photo below is another one. Hopefully sometime I will find the time…
I remember when the eagles showed up on the Vineyard. They got pushed out by the cormorants, but it was really exciting to see them on our dock. I haven’t had any time to take any pictures at all. I think I’ve taken the fewest picture of any summer during the past 20 years.
Your pictures are gorgeous!

Thanks! I did see an eagle, actually a couple of eagles, earlier this year on the Cape, but this one was taken when I visited my parents in Ohio.
Sorry you haven’t been taking many lately. I hope that as Garry recovers from his surgery you get more time to get out.

Whenever I see an eagle, I think in my mind, ‘magnifique!’. You got a really good photo here – it looks like it is asserting its dominance.

I love seeing eagles. they are magnificent birds. This one was just below the nest. It had fed the chicks and went down and was “hanging out”.

Love photos of birds, and these two are great! My brother has an osprey nest on his property, at the top of a utility pole, so it’s hard to see, but they definitely have at least one baby. Fun to listen to and to watch as they soar around the lake. And your eagle picture is amazing! He (or she?) is laughing for sure. Or something.

Thanks! There are a lot of osprey around our place on Cape Cod so I get tons of photos of them. They are fun to watch. The eagle was close to my parents house in Ohio. It was really hot, so I think this one was cooling off – it was sitting in a shady place with its wings partially open and its tongue sticking out. Then again, maybe it was laughing ;)

Thanks! I guess there are far worse things to photograph than osprey butts, and if some chicks are in that butt photo… ;)

Thanks! I am not a ‘birder’, but most of my photos are of birds. I just don’t remember what all birds I took photos of since I haven’t looked at them ;) On the other hand, taking the photos is 90% of the fin :)
