Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of a very strong Dark Roast (not sure what it is since they were out of Sumatra and French Roasts!, so I just picked up the only dark roast available). I see questions in some of your eyes – “Who is this odd person?” Yeah, I know, I last did a coffee post on the 11th of August and have only done three or four posts since then. Anyway, it is a cool day, though more humid than I expected, so not as fall like as I expected. But autumn will arrive! Eventually… And where are we? Some of you may recognize that photo at the top of the page as being taken at my house in New Hampshire.
So, where was I this last month? I was not eaten by sharks:
Yesterday I put up a post that talked a little about it. The main thing is that we had some issues at work that really wore me out. I’m talking long days where my butt rarely left the seat. One was 16 hours long with no breaks. That, along with a little “Post-Publishing Depression”, made it so I did not want to sit at a computer after work! When the problems were resolved, I took a week vacation. Although the timing was superb, it was long planned. You may be surprised that I spent the week on Cape Cod. ;) It was a week of rest, and rest included not writing a word. No editing. No stories. No blog. No reading blogs.
So I came back last Sunday. I didn’t get in until pretty late. Monday was a holiday, so I did a lot of things around the house. I had been gone over a week and had a lot to catch up on.
Tuesday was back to work. It was super busy, catching on the week i missed, but all of the major issues were resolved. Oh, there are still issues, but not the type that I get phone calls on Saturday’s or 10 PM on Thursdays about. Just the normal, run of the mill stuff.
This week I got back into editing my short story collection. I hope to have it out by December! I also got back into my exercise routine. It is hard to run when it is 90 F and 90% humidity! (heat index was over 100….) I also don’t have my weights on the Cape. So I am easing back into my routine, which feels great. OK, we had three 90 F days this week, and the humidity was high, but i still got out and ran and exercised and had my massage on Wednesday.
I started reading blogs again on Wednesday and posted on Friday. Which catches us up to today, when I am doing another post. Two in a row! Whoo-hoo!
So life has almost returned to normal. If such a thing as normal exists. As I said, Autumn is almost here. But then, I am surprised at the humidity.
I do have a lot more that I have to catch up on. I need to mow. There is work around the house. Other things like that. And hopefully I will get out and play some. That is what life is about isn’t it? It is not about working yourself to death, but enjoying your time here. And trying to help others enjoy their time here as well. Perhaps we should spend more time worrying about how many smiles we put on faces and less on how many dollars we put in our pocket.
With that, I have to go. Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a great week! If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by, but no guarantees – I still not in a blogging mood.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in! Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory!
