Modern Wonderland ;)

“Curiouser and curiouser.”

Alice had tried the forbidden door in her mother’s room and entered a new world.

After bursts of colored lights, she found herself in a corridor.

The hall was longer than the house, disappearing into the distance.

“Why have I never seen it from outside?” the girl wondered.

A March Hare paused its tantrum.  “Do you have some rain?”

“What?” As soon as the words left her lips, umbrellas started to descend from the sky.

“Too late.”  The hare turned into a daffodil.

“Mom!”  It was her sister’s voice.  “Alice has been in your medicinal marijuana again!”

The photo had a trippy, psychedelic look to me, yet there was hint of the whimsical, and I imagined poor Alice…. as sung by Grace Slick ;)

    Hi t
    Just FYI
I was going through the reader and I noticed that you and one other author uses Friday fictioneer with their tag (and not with the s) and so it does not appear in the feed if someone follows the tag.
    Does that make sense?
So maybe use both tags – with the s and without ?

I do use tags a lot, but don’t use them for searches. I guess I need to get better. And like Instagram – I usually use 2 or 3 hashtags, while the young people I know use 20 or 30 per photo…. I guess you can tell the old guys from how they use tags and hashtags ;)

yes – and I am not familiar with instgram (although I might be going back there soon to try again)
but had a friend who I followed shortly on facebook – and actually she was a reason I had to pull back – she posted non-stop – ugh
I know we can mute – but other issues for me there…
anyhow, she would have a photo and then like 30 tags –
it really seemed to be a certain generational thing –

haha – I think so – and side note – I heard for blog posts we should not have moe than 15 but have at least 4. (per OM)
anyhow, I am so happy to finally use tags – and it helps me find my own posts when I am digging for them

I typically use between 4 and 7 tags on a blog post. My coffee share posts have 9. Sometimes they have 2. my FF typically have 2 to 4. Though I just added a new one (Fictioneer(s)), so 3 to 5. Thanks! And OM should know!

Yes, the ones that Mother gives you don’t do anything at all, but the ones Mother keeps hidden away for herself… As is aid in another comment, at about this time we may need to move from Jefferson Airplane and get into The Stones and talk about Mother’s little helper… Thanks.

Yes. Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know… where mother keeps the good stuff. Perhaps the one that mother gives you doesn’t do anything at all, but the one that mother hides away sure does ;) Of course I should move to The Stones and talk about Mother’s Little Helper instead… Thanks.

Ohh, that one was funny! Snorting funny! I just read it to “Trip” (our new kitten) and his judgement is: “Me000000w!” (translation: You go, Alice! ) LOL! Sorry, had to do that. We now have two kittys: Maryjane and Tripper….

They do, don’t they! hahaha! When we adopted Maryjane I got a chuckle at the name… she’s actually named for the candy (a peanut nougat/taffy type), but the pun was too much as she looks high all the time. The little guy, well, he’s still a little shaky on his paws walks like he’s drunk… couldn’t resist the name… after all a Huey trip all the way from North Carolina to Ohio is quite a trip and quite an experience.

Thanks! This was some potent pot…. Yeah, tpot is considered a mild hallucinogen, but Alice’s adventure would take a very strong hallucinogen. Unfortunately I doubt if anyone has medicinal LSD around, though I know people take journeys to the Amazon to take “medicinal” psychedelic mushrooms, which would better match the lyrics “And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low”….

I’m not saying that our friend Lewis ever took anything dangerous, but… I do know some people went with that interpretation, or at least they did in the 1960s. Not scholars, just people who wanted to justify their habits.

Your story caught my eye because I also referenced Alice in my story. I agree with you on the photo having a “trippy, psychedelic” look with a “hint of the whimsical”, because I guess I was thinking the same thing when I was writing. But I enjoyed your story! Definitely laughed at the last line.

Yes, poor Alice. At least I made her an accidental tourist into the psychedelic land instead having her go in eyes wide open as Grace Slick/Jefferson Airplane did back in the 60s…
