After the Equinox – #Haiku #Tanka

Leaves, heald track

Bid to last the day
Wind shakes the color from tree
Death plunge of a leaf

My back yard

A bid to summit
The crackle beneath my feet
Dislodged stone slides down
Autumn hike on a mountain
Tests my feet but frees my soul

Written for Colleen’s Poetry challenge.  Each week she gives us two keywords, only we must use synonyms only, not the words themselves.  This week the words were Fall and Try.  This week i decided to do both a haiku and a tanka.

Note – the photos are from a couple of years ago – we do not have any color yet.

Thanks. Feet, paws, it’s all the same, though having four of the them on the ground may make you, a dog-poet, more stable than me, a human pretend-poet, who only has two.

We are beginning to get a little more, but it is still pretty green. Yesterday I noticed that more leaves are falling. Hopefully we’ll have plenty of color, even if it is late.
