One of my least favorite parts of writing, even worse than editing, is writing a blurb ;) Oh well, it has to be done. Here is the blurb to my upcoming collection of short stories, Embers. What do you think?

I am currently shooting for a December 4th release date. Just in time for Christmas ;)
I will post more about this book, of course, as we get closer. For now, I will just say a few words. Although it has fewer stories than Seasons of Imagination, it is longer. There are two novellas, perhaps three depending on your definition. Maybe even four… There are also a few other longer stories, though still a few short ones, some “short-shorts”. And just like Seasons, the stories are very eclectic in nature.

Good blurb. That’s my least favorite part of writing, except for having to describe my book in 100 words or less. I think that’s why I never wrote another. Not doing another promotion. Ever.

Thanks. Yes, there is that thing about trying to put your hundreds of pages into 100 words. But, but, it’s the details that people like in this book ;) If you self publish you can chose the level you want to promote it. You might not sell as many, but then again, a lot of people in the blogosphere do know and like your writing.

Nicely done, Trent. If you wish, you may eliminate the parentheses from the (that). It’s close enough to the quote and I won’t tell if you don’t. I think it will read better. I’m so honored that you liked the foreword and decided to use it. :-)

Thanks, Diana. I will get rid of the parentheses. I’m not too sure how much liberty I can take, but since this has your blessing… (I made another one letter change, but nobody will notice that one ;) ). I do like the foreword. Thanks :)

I really like your blurb, Trent. It goes really well with the name of the book. Diana’s quotes is also very fitting.

Thanks, Robbie. During one of my last editing sessions I realized that most of the stories take place either at dusk or dawn, so that is where the first sentence comes from. I really like Diana’s foreword and knew I had to fit at least part of it into the blurb.
