Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice mug of very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is seasonably cool out there and sunny. A gorgeous day! It has been frigid for the last two weeks, but it has also been mostly sunny. After our wet autumn, the sun was welcome, even if the cold wasn’t! And where are we? Hey, that’s a new photo at the top! But you may recognize that it is the same mug I use for New Hampshire.
It’s been a very busy week! Where do I even begin? I worked and work was, well, work. Busy. A few issues to take care of.
I did some writing and some editing. What, didn’t I just put out a new book? Yes, but I am getting the next one ready…
I decorated the tree last weekend.
I didn’t exercise as much as I would have liked, but I did have massage on Wednesday. Yesterday I was able to run for the first time since Sunday. i don’t know if it was the warmer weather or what, but I did my 4 miles at a slightly quicker pace and felt fresh when I got back. I did a few sprints when I was done to try to burn off a little energy, but gave up feeling I could turn around and run another 4 miles. Hmmm. I will have to figure out a new route to increase my mileage…
Besides the usual, like spoiling the dogs by playing with them so much every day, and other things, there’s not a lot to talk about. It was a good week and very busy.
With that, I have to go. I am going to try to get some Christmas gifts for my parents. I finally came up with an idea! And I have a bunch of other running around to do.
Thanks for visiting and having coffee (or whatever) with me! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. If you have a coffee share I will try to stop by.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in! Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory! (Note – it is coming back! A lot of people have rejoined and there are plenty of new faces :) ).
Trent, for next coffee meeting, can we have mulled wine instead of coffee (or as well as)!

If it is in the afternoon or evening, sure. Might go very well in the winter months and keep us warm…

I’m pretty terrible at having to make presents on a certain date, birthdays, xmas and all. I know the feeling… and “I am a firm believer of the ideal that if something works then DON’T FIX IT.” That funny habit we’ve got into to “improve” something that works well… is ridiculous.

I’m also terrible at gift giving and my parents are the hardest. I have no idea how some people do it so effortlessly. Glad your decorations are going up. Just over a week to go if you want that tree, though…

I try to keep my old fashioned peculator running, and share some every weekend when I can :)
I do a lot of writing to prompts, Sue Vincent’s write photo and the Friday Fictioneers in particular, which keeps me going even when my ideas start to fade. Most of the short stories in the book I just released started life from one of the prompts as did the two novellas I’m currently rewriting/editing.

Soounds busy Trent. Congrats on your new book and fantastic that you are onto your next. I saw an email telling me it had arrived but I haven’t had a chance to have a look at it yet. Have a Happy Christmas if I don’t speak to you before then. Glad you got your parents present sorted. They are always the hardest to buy for.

Yes, my parents are always impossible to guy for. Typically my siblings all get together for something, but this year we couldn’t think of a thing. I hope you enjoy if you do pick up the book :) Have a great week and if I don’t talk to you before then, a merry Christmas.
Stupid question – I may not be paying close enough attention, but are you still traveling? If so, are you planning on traveling over the holidays?

No we are back home. I’m just posting our holiday retrospectively. We have European relatives coming to stay over Christmas so it will be fun. I’ll definitely get to your book. I bought it before it was released and just haven’t had a chance to get to it but down time over the holidays will see me get there. Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and the New Year sees the release of more of your books.

Nice! Enjoy the weather! Glad you figured out the Christmas gift for your parents. have an awesome weekend. I like your new photo in the beginning! Very nice. I was just thinking today that I should put some more effort into the actual coffee photos for my coffee share.

I have been using the same photo for the coffee share since 2014 – yes, I joined very early in the history. I did add other photos later for when I am on Cape Cod, and a travel one, but finally this year I added two new ones for New Hampshire – this weekend was the first time for this one.
I hope your weekend is going well and that you have a great week ahead – the last week before you regain your housemate :)

It’s a great idea having different photos for different places.
My weekend is very relaxing so far. I hope that you’re having a great rest of your weekend, and new week ahead :)

I am finished shopping, not that I had a lot to do. Never got around to putting the tree up inside, though this year I did think about it seriously. Put lights up outside. I think I’m all set for Christmas. Going to spend today taking the dog for her birthday walk and napping.
Glad you got an idea for your folks. They were always the hardest to figure out what to do about. Mostly they just wanted us all to come home, so we tried to do that as much as we could. Should have gone more though.
Have a great week coming up!

My parents are hard. They don’t need anything, so… But I had an idea. I don’t spend enough time with them, but we do have a special week every year where they stay with us at our cottage on Cape Cod.
I hope you have a great special walk and a good week ahead.

Apart from our national news here in France, what with rioting in Paris and a terrorist attack in Strasbourg, it’s humdrum here too!

Yeah, some pretty rough times over there. I haven’t heard anything about the yellow jackets or riots this weekend. Has it calmed down?

(Not really. It’s slowly being taken up by extremists.) By the way I’m not sure what you call French coffee, the way to make it or special beans? Personally I like coffee from Brazil.

The Sumatra that I really like is obviously from Sumatra, but the French Roast is how they roast the beans. The beans are slightly burned and it is a very strong roast. There is a lot of flavor, but I like adding the Sumatra (another dark roast) in to make it smoother and slightly mellower. Funny but the Sumatra is pretty consistent from company to company, but everyone has their own take on what “French Roast” really means…

I also start of my next book as soon as one if finished, Trent. I think it is because we work and have limited time to write. I also have very few Christmas presents bought to date but there is still some time.

I actually have a lot written, which is good, so most of it right now is editing and rewriting. In ways it is true that our writing time is limited, so we always have to be working on it, but my guess is that if either of us became full time writers, we would be just that, full time writers and take very little down time.
A week and a half to go… I have to mail some stuff out, so that is part of the reason I have to do it now.
Have a great week!
