The Weekly Smile 2/11/2019 #weeklysmile

weeklysmile2a

My dogs love to play in our back yard.  There are a couple of relatively flat areas on different levels and then a steep, wooded area behind it all.  The run and play and play-fight and just have a great time.

It was really wet early in the week so I didn’t let them play much – they got so muddy so quick! But then the cold moved back in and the ground froze.

The boxer, Fiyero, loves to play with a ball.  Sometimes he wants to play with me with it, sometimes he just likes it close while he does other things, usually keeping a paw on it at all times.  But sometimes he plays on the hill. Some new paths have opened up an it was possible for the ball to roll down a path that descends more than 25 vertical feet (8 meters). Of course if he doesn’t stop it by then and it hits the drive, it might roll down another 5 clever feet into the church that’s next door neighbors to us.

Fiyero

It is fun to watch him chase the ball down the hill and he is obviously having a great time.

Here is a video of Fiyero playing.  This was a couple of years ago and not as big of a distance as he was playing this weekend and there are no leaves now so the ball rolls a lot better, but I thought you might enjoy a small taste of it.

(Click here if you don’t see the video)

My smile this week was watching Fiyero play with his ball on the big hill, what I call, being gravity’s playmate.

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small.  Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile!  Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.

You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.

Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)

“There are days I go in search of the kind, compassionate, loving and beautiful. Despite what we sometimes see on the news, FB and elsewhere, there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness, much more kindness than hate or cruelty. Perhaps we should all have a goal to make at least one person smile every day.”

Dogs are so funny it looks like he entertains himself quite well. Daisy loves to play ball but she and Zoee wrestle, play chase and play keep away a lot these days mud and all. The yards a muddy mess I hate the tracking in the house so we bought an outdoor carpet and made a long path to the back door in the back porch. I tell them to wipe there feet lol.

Fieyro is always good for a smile, a never ending source of them :) Thanks about the music – someday I am going to do more electronic versions of my more “classical” tunes (this started out as an exercise for a specific technique). I’ll be by to see your post in a little while :)

I use a video editing program. Microsoft used to have a great one that came free with Windows, but they got rid of it, I think because they want people to pay for it. I picked up the bottom of the line program by Adobe but have only used it one or two times – it isn’t as easy to get exactly what I want. Well, it might be, I just haven’t had time to use it.

I’m glad I got a smile from you, Robbie. it does sound like an awful day! Is it really hot there now? I’m assuming if it was and there was no electricity, it could get a bit stifling… I hope your week improves from here :)

I think we are in the 4 to 8 inch area, bu it is hard to tell. Also I’ve heard up to an inch of ice. This is another storm that if I shovel before it is 100% over I will end up with a bigger mess than leaving it. And if there is a crust, the dogs don’t like it very much – they cant “porpoise” through it like they do in deep, light snow.
