Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get a you large mug of a very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend. Perhaps a cuppa tea or hot cocoa instead? It is nasty out – snow, sleet, rain, yucky stuff and worse. There are a couple of inches of snow on the ground from Thursday and another storm will come through on Sunday night. Where are we? You may recognize the Beatles’ mugs as being from Cape Cod.
This is return to winter.
Yes, we had a very cold winter, but almost no snow – the storm track was to our south. We also had those odd warm days. Well, it has been cold this last week or so and will be cold for the foreseeable future. The storm track is hitting us again and we’ve had a lot of snow and more on the way. Just odd that late February and March will see much more snow than December, January and early February combined. It happens…
I’m just hoping this means that March will start lambing in a while and it will be a beautiful end of the month…
This was a semi-vacation week for me. I drove down to the Cape on Sunday evening. I worked Monday and Tuesday (tele-worked) but took the rest of the week off. I really didn’t do much. The weather has been lousy. But I did some work around the new house. The dogs are beginning to like it and are enjoying themselves.
I’ve moved some furniture in, have replaced most of the incandescent lights with LED and done a little more work, but not much. Of course I shoveled snow on Thursday at both places. I’ve also just enjoyed being there.
Despite all of the work that has to be done, the house does have a ton of charm….
Anyway, not much else to report. It was a low key week of doing a lot of nothing.
I do have to get back to it, though. I need to run over to the new place and fix a few things while I am here. We also bought some furniture and accidentally left something and and have to pick it up. So I will be going and should be in and out all day.
Thanks for stopping by for a coffee and a chat! If you have a coffee chat I will try to stop by, but I can’t guarantee it.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.

Oh, before i go – I did a cover reveal of my next book. What do you think?
Loving the pics of your new house!! Can’t wait to see how it evolves.. And I like the book cover!

Thanks! Most likely as we continue with the house it will mostly be talking about it – what pictures will I show about rewiring? But I’m sure there will still be many over quite a few years, as this is a major project…

Perhaps you’ll find some cool artifacts from years past. 😁

Perhaps, though for now we find them at antique stores and import them in ;)

I suppose with all the crazy weather, getting those indoor projects done is a good thing! Same here in Northern California! Fingers crossed for lamb-like weather as we get through mad-March!

It has been a crazy winter all over. Hopefully things do calm down and we see that lamb soon.
Have a great week :)

I really like the new cover! Glad you were able to have a lowkey week and also get a little done around the new house.

Low key weeks are always good – don’t have to be rushing all of the time, even though the world seems to tell us do need to be rushing all of the time. Thanks :)

I feel like we do get conditioned to always be doing, going. It can be so tiring. Low key weeks are so needed to relax and recharge.

I like your new cover! How did you choose cover? Enjoy your Sunday. I’m going to work a few hours in the morning, but it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day. Thank you for the coffee!

Thanks. After thinking about it, I decided I wanted a dragon on the cover – there are two stories that only have a few things in common, the main one being there is at least one dragon. The picture actually was made by combining a few things I already had and remaking them for this cover. Hard to explain in a few words :)
I just got back to New Hampshire from Cape Cod. It is a little less than 3 hours. I had a quick lunch. Even though there is snow on the ground, I might go running – it is a beautiful day and warmer than it’s been in a while (almost 40).
I hope you have a great day! Thanks for dropping by for coffee.

Thanks – I had a friend who is a much better artist than I am who wondered how I got the glowing effect (I cheated ;) ). There are two stories in the book with little connecting them other than they are both fantasies. One thing that connects them is that there is a dragon attack from above in both of them. So, a dragon in both stories comes out to a dragon on the cover.

Tea today…
If you please ☕️
And the
dog at the top of the stairs is a great shot!
And whew – settling into a new house is fun but work – and wish you well.

Tea coming up. Idina is a cutie. The house is a long term project. I see moving in full time in between 5 and 10 years.

wow- that is long-term – and congrats again

Yea, it is, though we will start staying in it a few weeks a year by summer (I hope), so long term planning for moving in 100% but still used in the mean time :)

Our rescue, Idina, is very cute! Her “brother” is a brindle boxer and he says he is cuter, but most people talk about her, not him.

Thanks. The Beatles’ mugs were a lucky find. I want a full set some day. And the fireplace was one of the things that sold me on the house – my favorite room.

Looks cozy for a cold day, sipping cocoa from Beatles’ mugs with friends by the fire!

It does look like a great place to curl up with a Beatle’s mug full of coffee and read a book ;)

We may drool some over the photos of the house. Don’t mind us. . .

Lol, Yeah, I guess I deserve a little drool for showing it off. It’s rough around the edges (and in the little things like electric…) but there are rooms that photograph really well….

I am sure by this time of the winter, you are feeling quite over it and longing for the spring.

The snow is such a pain. You spend hours shoveling, think you are done, and a squall comes by and leaves more to shovel. And travel. yuck. Yes, I’m ready for spring :)
