I took three days off of work last week. That is a big reason to smile :) I didn’t do a lot and the weather did not cooperate! I shoveled snow on five occasions (I have six inches of snow waiting for me outside right now…). It was cold. I didn’t run or walk the beach. I did little writing or editing. But it was nice! For the most part I relaxed and charged my batteries (Friday I drove back and forth all over the Cape all day, but it was good.)
So there was nothing in particular that stood out. OK, a little house repair, some Craig’s List furniture for the “new” house, etc. But it was jut the relaxation.
This week I smiled because I took some time off for just down time.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small. Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile! Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.
You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.
Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)

“There are days I go in search of the kind, compassionate, loving and beautiful. Despite what we sometimes see on the news, FB and elsewhere, there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness, much more kindness than hate or cruelty. Perhaps we should all have a goal to make at least one person smile every day.”
The answer to your question is in this post https://sunniesmybunnies.wordpress.com/2017/02/22/smile/

Thanks for the smile, unfortunately this went to spam and I just found it. Since it missed the roundup for last week’s smile, do you want me to add it to this week’s?

Those days when nothing happens and you do nothing are the most relaxing times. I’m glad you got a chance to relax.

In some ways I unwind more, at least mentally, if I am doing something like hiking or kayaking, but doing almost nothing was nice. Thanks :)

I dumped cable and signed up for YouTubeTV and I also switched from AT&T to US Mobile so my cell bill is 14.50 for unlimited talk and text. I still don’t use it, but at least I’m not paying $70 for not using it. AND next Tuesday, they are installing our new shower with glass doors and easy cleanup. So mostly, good. With some medical stuff, not so good. We got 18 inches of snow here. So mostly good.

Sounds like some good things to smile about, even if some not-so-good. We dropped cable and are now using Hulu. My cell phone bill is outrageous. If you don’t use it much, lowering is good – when I dropped cable I also changed my landline to an “emergency” line. I don’t use it, except to give the number to people I don’t want calling on my cell, so why pay for it? We got about 8 inches of snow – not sure how much at our place on the Cape. Hope the shower installation goes well.

Lovely area to take some time off in.

It is a very lovely area and I always enjoy it when I can take some time off there, even when it is cold.

I used to live on a lake and it was visible through both and a downstairs and upstairs picture window, plus the side windows as well. Really beautiful. Now the area is covered with new houses and the woods surrounding the house are gone. Not the same thing when you look out the window at other houses.

Yeah, it isn’t the same. Some places are putting pretty strict restrictions on building to stop that from happening, but it still does.

I was shocked the last time I saw it and the kids tell me it is even worse now.

Hi Trent you work so hard, Trent. It was nice you took a break. Have you tried the Prowritingaid yet?
I’m happy today because I’m having a FREE download promotion of my poetry book on Amazon. Here is the announcement and I’ll post another link when the FREE download is live.

No, I haven’t had a chance top look at prowritingaid. I’ll try to remember to look it up.
It is always good to take a break. I’m always on the go, which isn’t always a bad thing, but…
I’ll hope over to your blog in a few minutes and take a look :)

Oh Trent, this is nice! It’s so good to take time off to rest and restore.
Sorry that the weather didn’t cooperate for you though. :)
Blessings! Love that you do this weekly prompt, Trent.

Thanks, Debbie. Yes, it is always good to take a little time off to rest now and then. Self-care kind of feeds into your self-forgiving theme.

It sure does Trent! To me, Self-forgiveness is a key act of Self-care. :) Great point.
You’re welcome to contribute a post to #ForgivingFridays, if you ever want to do that. It’s a monthly prompt I do to encourage people to forgive and post about it. You can post anything that relates for you (including Self-care).
Have a great week.

I think my dogs with the source of my smile this weekend. They just wanted to sit with me.

My dogs are often a source of my smiles… They sometimes just want to sit with me, but more often they want me to take them out to play ;)

I love the sitting with the dogs. Sometimes they really enjoy their walk. Most times I have to carry the female dog around the block.

lol, I’m glad I don’t have that problem – my female is almost 70 lbs, so it would be difficult. They do like to be close most of the time, which is good.

Yeah Mercedes is a whopping 6 lb. So carrying her it’s not that big a deal

At 6 lbs I’m sure that Mercedes is a little easier to carry than Idina ;)
