If We Were Having Coffee on the 27th of April, 2019

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you something to drink.  Maybe not coffee, unless you want to stay up all night.  yeah, it is almost 8 PM local and I usual post the coffee share earlier.  It’s just well, we’ll talk about it?  And where am I?  A sort of new photo, but you might know that the mug is on Cape Cod.

Yeah, I have been out of blogging pretty much all week.  I did put up three posts – the two Weekly Smile posts and a Friday Fictioneer story, but nothing else.  And I haven’t visited much.  I am a day behind in my comments…  Yeah, pretty much out of the scene…

I spent the week on Cape Cod.  It was wet and cool for a lot of the week, but we had a couple of nice days.  I spent as much time out when the weather was nice.  Most of my time, though, was slowly removing things from my cottage and setting them up at the new house.  And then there was doing work in the new house.  And hanging out there.  And there is no Internet at the new house…

Here is a photo of Swan Pond from this week.  Yep, I have hundreds of them.  I’ll miss seeing it every day (three miles away, so it isn’t gone forever).

The new place is a short walk to two landings on Bass River (a tidal river).  Here is a photo taken about an hour after the one above:

So maybe I won’t miss it – I also have a similar view out of the upstairs window…

Back on my computer, I spent as much time as possible editing.  I hadn’t touch my novellas in over two months!  My original plan was to publish in mid-April.  Ooops…  Well, maybe mid-May now.  I did a lot of editing, but I still have a lot to do.  most of the formatting is done, so after editing, I should be able to get it ready to publish in  no time.  We’ll see…

And that is it.  Working on houses, walking the dogs, relaxing and editing.  almost no time for blogging.

Oh, West Dennis Beach is about 1.4 miles (2.25 km) from the new place.  Here it is this morning.  It was windy and rough!

Anyway, it is getting late.  I’m going to have to go now.  Thanks for stopping in!  I can’t promise I will hit other coffee shares, but I will try.

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.

I love the beach photos you share! We got to camp on Lake Erie this weekend, and it was so nice to walk along the beach and wake up to the sound of the waves. Thank you for the coffee!

Thanks. Seems a little early for camping – I hope you stayed warm! I grew up on the shore of Lake Erie, which is one reason I like to be closer to large bodies of water. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your week.

You know it sounds great! Your blog doesn’t own you, it is as it should be. Still you posted several times this week (give yourself some cred ;)…so it’s not like you’re completely gone :) I’m so happy for you about that new house, sounds like music to my ears.

Thanks! It is great to slowly get what will be my retirement home in order. I will miss living in the mountains of New Hampshire, but I love Cape Cod!
No, I am not own by my blog :) Typically, I chose times when I want a break. I really didn’t chose this, it just happened. But I guess that means that I needed the time away :)

I don’t post many New Hampshire photos, but it is just as pretty in a very different way, but it all is very relaxing. I can’t wait to be on Cape Cod full time… (when I retire).

Thanks, Terri. I think it is because Swan Pond is so shallow so is very smooth, but the reflections on it are always gorgeous. And, yep, you were early enough to get coffee before I shut down the caffeine machine ;) Have a great week!

I’ve seen that in some of your photos. Always healthy to be able to get out of the city… (I have an aunt who lives way out in the country north of Dallas, but my cousins all live in the suburbs.)

I am going with tea, this week. Thank you! The photo “an hour later” has such gorgeous colors. Wave texture heading into the lower left corner is lovely.

Also, the wave detail/texture at West Dennis Beach is striking. Does look rough. The cloudy sky deepens the colors of the land as well as water.

Sometimes, I think, a break from blogging is nice. I am not taking photos as frequently during this transition from spring to summer, and so have not much at all to stick into my photography blog.

Best wishes for your editing and getting caught up on the publishing! And also, the dog walking! The out-of-doors!

It is a pretty area. I used to post a couple of large photo shoots a month (mostly birds, like osprey), but I ran out of time – I do want to post more photography here again some day. This little blogging break was almost unintended – that’s just how it worked out. I do like to take a break on occasion, just to clear my mind/

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a good weekend.

Yeah, I know a few people like you who can drink coffee and go to bed, but I’m not one of them. I’m a super light sleeper and very sensitive to caffeine… If I had a cup of coffee now, I’d be awake until 2.
