Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is still a little cool outside, but it feels nice so we can sit in the back yard where it isn’t too windy. Or did you want to sit on the bench at the landing, just a few yards/meters away? And where are we? If the Beatle’s mugs and hints about salt water didn’t give it away, we are on Cape Cod. Yes, again :)
After last week being so nice, this week started off awful. The temperatures plunged and it rained all day Sunday. Monday was a little better, but Tuesday even worse. But then the sun came out Wednesday afternoon and it warmed up. Thursday was gorgeous and today looks to be even better. I already took a long walk on the beach and plan on being out as much as possible. Unfortunately, it is too windy for kayaking – I did get out on Thursday, though. I drove down Wednesday evening, after massage (thanks Dotie, and happy birthday).
The cottage is almost ready to go up for sale. That’s part of the reason I’m down here again. The new house isn’t quite livable, but we’ll make do. I will miss the cottage! I will particularly miss Swan Pond and the easy access tot he water. Here is a photo from Thursday:
Nice, huh? It’s great.
The car is loaded and ready to head off to the new place, all of three miles away. I’ll be on the move most of the day, but will stop here occasionally.
Thanks for stopping by! It was nice chatting. If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by your place for a chat. Have a great weekend.
The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived! Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share. This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.
What a beautiful setting! Good luck with your transition.

It is a great location and I’ll miss it, but the new place has some great views as well. Thanks.

Hope that your roughing it in the new place goes (relatively, at least) smoothly! And also, selling the cottage! I’m happy to know that there will be more photos of the water around you and new sunset views. Best wishes for you and yours as you navigate the transitions!

Really odd – I know I answered you but it isn’t here! Anyway, it is a little sad to be selling the cottage, but exciting moving into the new place. I might not get the same sunset photos as Swan Pond (unless I drive over), but still near the water :) Thanks! Hope you have a great week :)

Hi Trent,
Sorry I haven’t been round for awhile. I’ve been focusing on writing and researching my book and full immersion works best for me. It’s coming along, although there’s a mountain of research to produce each short story.
Didn’t know you were selling the cottage and moving. All the best with the transition to the new place.
The sunset photo is stunning btw. I was walking around our local wetland today with my camera in hand. I noticed rows of dead brown ware lilies and found them rather unattractive, but on closer inspection, they’re habitat and there were a few water birds living there.
Anyway, hope you have a great week.
Best wishes,
Rowena

Hi Rowena, it’s been a while. I bought the “new” (built in 1854) house in February, but we’ve had alot to do. In a few years I will move to it full time.
Yeah, Swan Pond is always a great place for sunsets. It is very shallow, so the water is like a mirror.
I hope the writing is going well, and everything else down there. Have a great week!

Yes, it would be really hard to leave a scene like that behind. But, then again, if you love your new house, and you’re only about 3 miles from the water, it won’t be too rough.

Actually, there is another body of water very close to the new place (a lot of water on Cape Cod ;) ) so I might not come back for sunsets very often, though it is good that it is so close.

I appreciate the cool weather. Good weather for moving too! Moving is exciting, even though I understand that there is some work involved. Thanks for the coffee. Best of luck with the move.

Thanks. The problem is that it is such a nice day that I want to play instead of work ;) But I am getting stuff done, so hopefully can get this place on the market soon.

Maybe you could do both? 😉

Yes, a possibility :) Besides my 6 AM walk on the beach, I did make it kayaking (the wind died down) and took a long walk in the woods. I stayed outside as much as possible….
