Waves break on the shore
Explosions without the fire
Stirring blue to brown
Restless ‘neath troubled water
Sandy bed is washed away

Written for Colleen’s Poetry Challenge. Each week she gives us two keywords, only we must use synonyms only, not the words themselves. This week the key words were the poet’s (me ;) ) choice, so I chose “Beach” and “Anxious” This week I decided to do a Tanka
I love the descriptions you used, Trent. Restless waves is a great metaphor for the rhythm of mother earth. The waves are like her heartbeat! <3

Thanks, Colleen. Water is the Earth’s blood, and gets into ours as well…

I’ve never related waves to restless. Interesting!

There are soothing waves, and waves to make you relax, and then there are storm waves, crashing with great energy, never stopping, always on the move. Restless ;)
