The Weekly Smile for September 16, 2019 #weeklysmile

weeklysmile2a

I have often said that I like to change up the smiles from week to week. It would get boring if I said my smile was a weekend on Cape Cod or kayaking every other week. Talking about dog play and walks in the New Hampshire woods would get old as well. I could do those types of things but… To riff off of an old Monty Python phrase, and now, for something completely different ;)

I sit a lot during the day.  Too much. If I didn’t work I would be up and about, but i do have to work, and it is office work, even if it is in my home office. My back does not love me after a long day. I picked up a comfortable, inexpensive office chair for my office on Cape Cod, but found that it was terrible for my back. So I just picked up a “gaming chair”.

What is a gaming chair?

It has a higher back than an office chair, is much more adjustable and far more comfortable. It is built to sit in for hours on end. Sure, it looks like a gaming chair and you would not see it in a boardroom, but it is a million times more comfortable over a long day than any office chair I’ve sat in. I have been in chairs that cost thousands and were “guaranteed” to be the best chair ever, and this is far, far better for the long haul.

So here it is:

chair

That is my smile for the week, a new comfortable, if questionably stylish, chair for my home office on Cape Cod.

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small.  Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile!  Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.

You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.

Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)

Here is my weekly smile! Thank you Trent!

I know all about gaming chairs as my youngest son who is in his 20’s has a gaming chair that is getting old which his Dad bought him some years ago. Instead of his back having issues, it is his wrist and arms. He wants a chair that has adjustable arm rests, he says he could spend over $1,000 for a gaming chair, wow, incredible!! You know what I can do with $1,000? for my horses! Haha, but he said he found a comparable one for about $350. What ever works!! I know people may think it crazy all that I spend on my horses. It is a lot of money, but soooo worth it!!

This one was on sale for something like 250 (not sure exactly), but I know good chairs can be very expensive. Funny thing is, my primary chair in NH is an office chair I bought for about $150 back in ’93. It is good, but not as comfortable and no arm rests at all… But the keyboard I use it with is very low, so my arms don’t get as tired as they do with my other desk where I put the chair.

Anyway, I will go check out your post now :)

No worries, I run this for a week, so anytime until next Sunday night is good :) Good chairs are essential. They might seem expensive, but a small investment compared to back issues! Looking forward to seeing your cactus flowers.
