If We Were Having Coffee on the 2nd of November, 2019

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a very warm dark roast, a cuppa tea or other warm beverage. It is a little chilly out there, but a beautiful day otherwise. The wind has finally died down, it is sunny, and just a great day. Where is this amazing, if cool, weather happening? Some of you may recognize that bit of Edward Gorey fashion (nice for post Halloween) as being on Cape Cod (and yes, I have drank my coffee from this cup the last few days).

Work was busy. Enough said ;)

Last Saturday was our Lions Club Penny Sale. I wrote about it for my Smile.  I went to an outside party on Sunday.  It was a gorgeous location and poured rain the entire time.  And it was cold. I drove here Tuesday evening. My birthday was Thursday. Friday I had an electrician in to do a little more work – there is still a ton to do, but I have my car charger and there is now a washer and dryer outlet! Plus a small repair in the kitchen, so I am happy.

I wrote several stories this week. I posted five if you include the clip of The Old Mill. There was also a tanka story.

Well, I have to go out and take advantage of the sun!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend. If you have a coffee share I will try to stop in and chat.

The Weekend Coffee share is hosted by Eclectic Ali .  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.

Hey T – you kept this coffee share short and sweet – and so with that in mind – I will take a quick shot of espresso – okay?

also – wanted to ask you if you would consider doing a quick review (and maybe a post) on Charly’s (@crazylife) poetry book. I helped him get it going and I know others want to support this awesome guy – and I know you two are blog friends – anyhow, – if you are interested – I will get you a copy

Work was busy here too, but it makes the work week go quick and I am a fan of quick work weeks. We have also been having rain. Just more strange weather for this already weird weather year. Anyway, thanks for the virtual cup. Have a great week!

Yeah, sometimes those busy weeks are good in how quickly they go by. With weather, I’ve been seeing people with snow, so weird all around. Have a good week :)

I’m glad you had a good birthday Trent. For the past month, we have had a deluge of rain, so no need to go behind waterfalls – the waterfalls are everywhere! I’m still waiting for our leaves to turn, though some are looking rather pretty with their golds and oranges coming through. Anyway, just thought I’d stop by, say happy birthday again and wish you a good week ahead.

Thanks, Eloise. Typically autumn is dry, so a deluge of rain for most of October would be awful… I think October was a little wetter than usual, but not what you had. I hope the rest of your weekend goes well and that you have a wonderful week ahead :)

    Five stories in one week?!
You are the man. I’ll be around soon to check them out.

After the fire and smoke and power outage and food loss and cold nights w/o heat, I was lucky to get any work done (28 of 40 hours w/ 12 unplanned vacation) a few more ideas to flesh out and only one revised story – that’s doing really well regardless. There is a large group on a Facebook group that grew up in the same small town and they like to read almost anything from Petaluma 19- 50s, 60s, 70s, etc.

If you ever have ideas where story tellers should be reaching out to, please send them my way. Thanks for the visit.

The fires and winds in California have been awful, as have the power outages to help prevent further fires… We’ve had a few nasty high wind days in the last couple of months (twice winds over 100 mph), but nothing like your constant gale. Give me our hurricanes and blizzards over your fires, mudslides and earthquakes any day ;)

Five stories = one poem story (5 interconnected Tanka), one 100 word flash (Friday Fictioneers), one chapter from my WIP, two new flash fiction pieces of between 500 and 1000 words.

Cool that the people from your hometown so enjoy your little bits of personal history that you share.

Thanks for stopping by – I’ll try to be over to your coffee share later tonight or tomorrow if I can’t make it.

Happy BIRTHDAY! You mentioned your birthday was in October, a Halloween birthday! Love your pup’s, great photo of them playing. Do they wear sweaters when it gets really cold? I can’t imagine being in the cold with all my animals, especially the horses! 🐴
You have posted and written a lot this last week. I too have been REALLY busy at work this week. Loved having coffee this morning with you and can’t wait to share my coffee share! Have a wonderful weekend! 😀

Thanks! They don’t wear sweeters often – they are bigger dogs and stay pretty active, so there usually isn’t a problem – the problem is with paws getting cold when they melt the ice on the street so the paws are wet and it is below freezing. I do hope your work slows down a little soon :) Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a great weekend :)

Thanks! Yes, it has been a cloudy week. At least it warmed up – it was 40 and raining at the party but 70 and raining on Thursday! Still, I enjoy the sun even if it is much cooler. Hope your weekend is going well.

Thanks! I wouldn’t mind 60 in the afternoon ;) It reached low 50s, but was still a gorgeous day. The Edward Gorey house is just a few miles down the road – I need another classy but spooky mug from there. Hope your weekend is going well.

Happy Belated birthday, Trent! I haven’t had coffee in some days but I think that will change in the morning. We have cooler weather here in Orlando however it will only last for a few days. So, taking advantage of it while it last. Have a wonderful blessed day 🦋🌻❤

Thanks, Maria. I did put a hint at my birthday on another post, but if we aren’t “facebook friends” you missed it. The outdoor party was beside a 15 foot waterfall. Very beautiful southern New Hampshire forest land. Cold, but beautiful :)
