I had a lot to smile about this last week, though I am reserving the biggest smile until later :) OK, to not leave a mystery, I spent a lot of time recording and making a video for the music, but I don’t have it to share yet, so will wait until I can post it.
So what else did I smile about, besides the music? I spent a long weekend on Cape Cod, which is pretty normal. I visited my favorite beach, Chapins Beach, for a long walk for the first time since Spring, so that was great. I took a long walk in the woods, which is always relaxing. I walked on West Dennis beach twice and ran by it twice (part of the run is the access road/parking lot, where the beach is just south of the access road and a salt water marsh to the north). I took other walks and spent a lot of time by the water, despite the cold and wind. And I was on a blogging break – I spend very little time on line over the weekend. This made for one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had for a while :)
My smile this week was a very relaxing weekend on Cape Cod.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small. Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile! Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.
You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.
Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)

I find blogging breaks restful as well – though mine do not take place in a beautiful environment like yours :D

The second half of my blogging break was also in a beautiful, if snowier, location! I just got back from northern Maine.

Hi T – music and walking and offline time – triple win…

Glad you fought it off – holidays are always tough when sick. I’m deeper into my blog break now – I’m up in northern Maine and just answering comments and not reading nor writing :)

Good for you to have a relaxed weekend! My weekly smile needs a bit of explanation. It is not the door, but what is added, that makes me smile, because it’s so quirky! https://wp.me/p9EWyp-Hd
A happy Thanksgiving to you!

I Love your smile! I too took a bit of a blogging break but it was mostly because I was busy traveling. But being with family was fun but busy with a move. Here is my smile, all about my trip to Arizona! Thank you!!

Yes, relaxing in a beautiful place is great! New Hampshire is beautiful in its way, though much more rugged (granite mountains as opposed to sandy beaches ;) ). I’ll be over to visit in a few minutes :)

Hello, Trent!
So happy to hear you are spending time making music. I hope you share with us soon this amazing video you are creating.
Your weekend sounded quite tranquil. Just walking on the beach and woods sounds picture-perfect for meditating and/or reflecting. I’m pleased to know you were able to enjoy it so much.
In case I don’t speak to you before the end of the week, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless You!

I hope you think the video is amazing once you see it ;) I don’t get enough time to play music, partially because I can’t do more than one art at a time and I’ve been writing.
The weekend was great, thanks :)
I will be off line pretty much until next Monday, so Happy Thanksgiving :)

Great things to smile about, Trent. I didn’t know you were musical.

In ways music is my first love. I studied modern classical composition for a few years (semi-formally). Lately it is more just playing around, but some day I’d like to get back into it. Also these days I do almost pure electronic, and like to use equipment similar to that used int he 60s and 70s (ie., analog vs digital). If you are on my blog i have a “Music” menu and under that, “video”. Warning – some of them aren’t that great, but hopefully fun :)

A weekend on the beach and recording a video are both worth smiling about. I’ve never made a video although I have done audio recordings and edited them with Audacity. One of these days I hope to figure out how to make and edit videos.

Most of my videos are just photo slideshows, so super simple. I’ve been playing with some animation on this, so a little more complicated, though still easy – just put one picture after the other and make sure they are short duration. It’s when you start adding multiple video sources and such (which I’ve never done) that it gets complicated…. Windows used to have a free video creator, but they deleted it when I upgraded to Win 10. I’m still learning Premier Elements.
