If We Were Having Coffee on the 21st of December, 2019

coffee-in-the-snow

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in out of the cold and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other warm beverage – you’ll need it!  It got down close to 0 F (-18 C) last night!  It isn’t as windy as it has been, so actually feels “warm” and it will get above freezing for the first time in a few days.  This coming week will be warmer than last.  Good :)  Oh, and were is it so cold?  By the photo at the top you may be able to tell that we are in New Hampshire this week.

Happy Winter Solstice!  OK, the solstice officially arrives a little before midnight tonight, but who’s counting?  Next week the days will begin to get longer again.  And there was much rejoicing – no more dark by 5 PM.  Off course we still have winter to look forward to.

Winter part 1 – We had snow again this week.  Not as much as a few weeks ago!  It is pretty.  I walk around without a phone or camera so don’t get many snow photos, but I did take my phone on one walk and took this:

Winter part 2 – I have been in a musical mood lately and recorded a version Vivaldi’s Winter, 1st movement, using my analog modular synthesizer.  It doesn’t sound “real”, but I think it has a cool (no pun intended) vibe.

(Click here if you don’t see the video below)

Winter part 3 – I went to a holiday party last week, to celebrate the solstice and all…  I did my Smile about it.  And I took this selfie before I went.

Well, that is about it.  I have a ton of things to do today.  Shopping is mostly don, but nothing is wrapped (exception – my parent’s gift has been wrapped and shipped). It is sunny and will be the warmest day in a week.  I need to be outside ;)

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by!  Happy Holiday!

You can go visit other coffee shares here :)

Merry Christmas a few days early! I just love all your photos and thanks for sharing your music, I love it as it is different! The snow photo is wonderful, I like seeing it so I am glad you had your phone to take the photo! Have a wonderful holiday and am glad it is warming a little and the days are getting longer! Cheers! ~Diana

It has to be a pretty wet and messy snow day for snow to lose its magic. It might take me a few days to get back “used to it” but love it when I get the chance.
Tiss the season Trent. Thanks for the glimpse of NH from your perspective.

Lovely snow patterns! Thanks for the coffee and best wishes for your holidays!

It’s above freezing, here, and I am about to visit the gazebo and try to get in five miles on the exercise bike without having to turn on the space heater! I suspect this is our last weekend for awhile with above-zero temperatures.

I do so like that hat!

I did get out with the dogs earlier and will have a long walk this afternoon. I got off work early yesterday (I had to work late one evening) and took a very long walk, which is when I took that photo. My foot prints were the only ones up that big hill! I loved it.

      Merry Christmas!

That winter photo you grabbed is layered lusciousness!
And hope you get all of your stuff done. We got our packages shipped yesterday – and we were on an out of post office in 20 minutes – woo hoo
Was going to have tea when I first dropped by – but would like strong tea to go with the fun music!
Nice work – zany and fun

Hi Y! A strong tea to go coming up. 20 minutes in the post office is too long for me. I took a break from work yesterday, walked to the PO, mailed my parent’s package and walked home in a little over 20 minutes. Yes, small towns. Thanks! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Oh that is awesome to have the small town quickness – 😊
And I used to be in the post office five to seven times a year (sending step daughter stuff or stuff to other family) and so the last few years with one trio a year – pretty sweet to have it be also 20 minutes

We do have the gamut of weather here. It is not unusual to have years that see both -20 C and +38 C, and have blizzards and hurricanes. But I do like the full four seasons, so I enjoy it :)

      Happy Holidays :)

lol, yep, a different time zone, so solstice for me is just before midnight while yours is tomorrow. And then there is that entire different side of the world thing and your days are going to get shorter… Unfortunately, maybe not cooler for anyone in the southern hemisphere. The picture is wind-sculpted snow on a open hillside. Happy holidays.

lol, I understand. Actually, shoveling became a lot better when I started telecommuting, sine I don’t have to be anywhere at a specific time! Thanks for stopping by and for playing hostess while Ali is out :)
