Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I will get you a large mug of a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. It is a beautiful day out there! I will be spending as much time as possible in the sun, while we have it. And where are we? You may know by the photo at the top that we are on Cape Cod.
As I said, it is a beautiful day. I have taken two walks with the dogs, played with them for 20 minutes in the back yard and driven across town to my favorite beach (Chapin beach is on the “bay side”, while we are on the “sound side” and close to West Dennis Beach.) I took a very long walk on Chapin. Great!
Yesterday started with breakfast out and continued with a walk in the woods many times out with the dogs, a bit of computer time, music time and a walk on the beach in the afternoon. It is funny that I took a “sunset” photo at 3PM! Oh well, we are very far east and the days are getting longer.
This was, of course, Christmas week. We went out with freinds on Christmas Eve and visited friends on Christmas day before coming down here on the 26th (Boxing day for our British friends, though Fiyero thinks it is “Boxer Day” every day ;) ).
Albert loved our Christmas tree and spent as much time under it as possible. He is now down on The Cape.
Well, I need to get out. I have to run today before the weather changes (I have run every other day for the last week and feel better than I have in a month of little exercise).
I hope you all had a good week. I hope those that celebrate had a great Christmas and those that celebrate are having a great Hanukkah. Happy solstice :) I wish all of you a happy new year.
Thanks for stopping by to visit! If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by! Happy Holiday!
You can go visit other coffee shares here :)
dark roast is definitely my kinda blend
Sunset at 3pm sounds like the title of a book hahahaha lovely picture though ^_^
We have boxing day on our calenders on account of being a former Brit colony and yeah some of that is still ingrained in us like how our English is the UK English and now with the internet and using American version editors its a whole lotta drama looking at the squiggly red lines of “mistakes”

Ps what the heck is boxing day anyway really ought to look that up lol

One dark roast coming up. Even growing up in the US I still use some British spellings and get those red, squiggly lines… It’s what I get for reading the “classics” (i.e., The Lord of the Rings) as a kid ;) I don’t know if anyone really knows where the term “boxing day” comes from. have a great week.

Love the photographs and the sunlight on the water! Blizzard, here. No sunshine. Best wishes for your new year, Trent!

Yeah, the storm is making its way across – we’ll have a lot of snow and ice up in New Hampshire, but I’ll still be on Cape Cod and get two days of rain…. Thanks! Hope you have a great new year :)

Boxer day! Ha… and the photo of F was too cute!
Herbal tea would be nice …

Glad you had plenty of walks and outside time with the nice weather – we have had pleasant weather too! I had to skip a few walks with the hubs last week because my face was chapped a bit – lanolin for a few days healed it (and I do have shea butter left but went with the lanolin because I have used it before – like our friend’s son (years ago) had that red ring around his lips – chapped and sore – and his mom used pur-lan to heal it)
Anyhow – hope you have a great rest of your Saturday Trent –

I guess the puns stretched over to this post and Fiyreo’s Day ;)
Another thing I do is put some oil on my skin at the end of my shower – I am now using a mixture of avocado, almond, grape seed and olive. My massage therapist gave me the hint and says she just rubs it in with her hands, but I use a body sponge. I then rub it in with my hands. Even if I skip the shea butter, this really, really helps – my skin used to bleed for most of the winter and now it is much better.
My Saturday has been good. I hope your weekend is going well as well. Hmm, didn’t come out right. Anyway, have a wonderful week :)

Weekend is pretty good. Thanks – and yes – the ruler pins were super fun and thanks for commenting on that ruler tree in that post.

The ruler tree is cool. Another blogger (MOSY) posted a tree she made using scrap lumber that looked a lot like a big version of it.

That sounds like a good idea. If I was more into trees I would have gotten that ruler one. And yesterday saw an after Christmas sale with pre-lit poinsettia trees. And I admired the display one and then moved on. We do want to get another tree- but will probably wait a few more years (and saved most of the family ornaments) and in the meantime the small one works for us.

Loved having coffee with you today! And your photos warm my heart. The expressions of your furry family are precious! I’m glad you are able to get out and run. I too can’t believe how much better I feel when I walk every other day or so and it’s been months since I’ve walked religiously, Ugh, of course I’m outside and getting some exercise with the horses, but it’s not exactly the same exercise. Anyways, you are motivating, maybe a good New year’s resolution even though I don’t like to make those! Lol 😄
Hoping to write a coffee share tomorrow!

I’m not a new year’s resolution type person either, but it is a good time to set some goals… I walk every day, rain or shine, and if I don’t want to, I have two 75 lb dogs that force the issue ;) Hope your weekend is going well.

Albert looks very happily moosched into the couch. A handsome face and soul I suspect.

Albert has more personality than any cat that I have ever met. He was a street cat in Kuwait City (seriously) and lived through a lot before finding his home over here, under our Christmas tree…

I suppose the best news of climate change is NOT being up to our hips in snow and being able to get outside and do stuff. It was so warm at dawn this morning, I could walk out on the deck in just my nightgown and it was comfortable! And it was one more gorgeous dawn, too.

There are pluses, but then, don’t tell the people in Australia who had record breaking heat and fires in the last few weeks… It was almost 40 when I took the dogs for their morning walk. The sunrise wasn’t as nice as yesterday, though – yesterday the sky was glowing orange and yellow, today it turned blue right away.

We had a lovely time away going from the south coast to the east coast – we all love the seaside in this family.

I have a bit of a split personality, which is why I spend half of my time in the mountains of NH and half on the coast on The Cape ;) The east coast is great, even this time of the year, but I am sure the south coast is more pleasant in winter!
