I had the perfect smile for today planned for weeks, and then everything changed with just hours to go. Sigh. Hopefully next week… So instead, I will talk about the weather ;)
It was sunny and relatively warm over the weekend. I did spend my usual time playing with the dogs, which means, throwing balls, running, chasing, begin chased, squatting down to their level to play tug of war, etc. Years ago one of my dogs like playing with teenagers more than me. No more ;) I also walked them. And I walked myself without dogs. I walked in the woods and on the beach on Cape Cod. I walked up snowy hills in New Hampshire. I walked in the country and village. I did a 5 mile run, which is mostly beside the beach. I spend a couple of hours chipping ice off of my driveway in NH. I cut firewood. I walked around my backyard with a camera. All in all, I am sure I was outside for at least six to eight hours on each of Saturday and Sunday. And I loved it! I’d much rather be out than in.
That is my smile, spending a lot of time enjoying the out-of-doors on a nice, sunny weekend!
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small. Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile! Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.
You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.
Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)
Better out than in, I always say. What, the quote is a little different, isn’t it?

Am smiling too, because at the moment the sun is shining, and can be outside without a coat:) https://wp.me/p9EWyp-1HC

Anytime spent outside is good time. Even ice chipping…for awhile anyway.

Having the sunshine is great, as are the longer days. And being able to stay outside without worrying about getting cold is wonderful.

Seeing the direction your photos and often your poetry take, I’m not surprised that you find being outside worthy of smiles :)

I didn’t see your link until too late for last week, so this makes sense. And if you do another post, the more the merrier ;) Being outside does rejuvenate me :)
