If We Were Having Coffee on the 28th of March, 2020

coffee-in-the-snow

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in… Ooops, stop, hold it.  Let’s sit out here at the picnic table on the patio.  I know, there is a lot of snow, but this area stays a freezer at least 10 degrees colder than anywhere else.  Great for the summer, but..  It is warming up and is a beautiful day, so we can enjoy it out here.  I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, hot cocoa or other beverage to keep you warm  Funny, I have seen a lot of people sitting on their porches recently even when it is below freezing.  They live by socializing, but are trying to be safe.  Oh, were are we?  Some of you may recognize that photo at the top as being in New Hampshire.

OK, first, yes, we did have 8 inches of Snow Monday into Tuesday, but that is an old photo at the top of the post.  Most of the snow was gone by the end of the day.  Here is a photo from Tuesday late-morning:

But I like this one from the afternoon and have shared it twice, including with a poem about Hope:

crocus-snow

Funny, but despite the snow the week was, for the most part, relatively warm and very much early spring.  Crocuses, daffodils, forsythia, etc. are blooming.  I hear frogs when I run.  So nice.  the dogs want to be outside all day!

Work was tough.  As usual.  No slow down there.

I continued to play and record music.  Here is something I put on Youtube yesterday.

(Click here if you don’t see the video)

Yeah, only about a minute and a half, but I really like it.  It is part of theset of miniatures I talked about earlier in the week.

I’ve been back blogging almost as much as usual after my unintentional break.  Not quite, but still a lot more than just a few weeks ago.

Anyway, it is a gorgeous day and I need to start moving and stretch my legs.  I hope you enjoyed your coffee and the view of our wooded hillside!  If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop by.

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli.  The link to join is here.

Ice coffee coming up, but, brrr… ;) I have crocuses blooming all over my yard now – I have no idea when they were planted, but they are “feral” or “wild” now…

      90. Wow! We are having thunderstorms right now, but I’m sure there will still be some snow piles around for a while. Have a great week, and I hope it doesn’t stay too hot!

Yesterday I went hiking and was surprised at how much snow was still on the ground… I did not go into the mountains, or even local mountain, knowing there would be snow. Yeah, there will be piles on the ground and snow in the woods and on my patio for a couple of more weeks… Thanks for stopping by, Diana! I hope you are well and surviving the isolation, perhaps getting a lot of writing accomplished.

Our seasons are messed up… It was “warm” early yesterday afternoon, so I went hiking in the woods. Then the sun went behind clouds and I froze…

Given your location Trent, I think I’d ask for my coffee with a teaspoon of maple syrup. Yea – work has been work this week with several corona complications. But so far it’s been a wonderful Saturday with family close and only small annoyances to remind us of the strange state we find ourselves in.
I hope to catch up on all the postings of the blogs like yours that I follow.
    Blessings.

Maple syrup works – I use a little in my oatmeal every morning. The only corona-based issues at work (for me) were that our VPN couldn’t handle all of the traffic and our phone bridge situation is awful – people can’t get onto meetings. I hope your weekend has continued to go well and that you have a great week ahead !

I enjoyed this blog post very much — both the new musical miniature and your other great photographs. Hurrah for the extraordinarily hardy and persistent crocus!!! Thank you for sharing these lovely glimpses of your life with us.

Good morning, Trent! Loved your miniature, very nice! It was a good way to jump start my day as so far all I’ve done is nap on the sofa…and believe it or not I actually have stuff I’d like to get done today. But it’s pouring rain here and that just seems to lend itself to a nap or two. Or three. I think I’ll get one thing off my to-do list, motivated by your music! :)

It is not unusual to get a big early spring snow fall here, but, yeah, never fun. Thanks – when I saw it peeking out of the snow, I had to run back to my house to get my phone.

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the coffee and music. There are a few rainy days in our near future, but New England is the place that created the phrase “April Showers…” and April is our wettest month! Have a great weekend – I hope you get at least one item checked off of your to-do list ;)

Enjoyed the musical snippet and photo slides. Thank you! Lovely snow photo of flower, also. Hope that your work load eases to a comfortable level. Missed your posts while you were gone. Best wishes for your week!

We had a bit of snow here this week as well and it is doing some very faint kind of snowing this morning as well but it is almost like an invisible crystal in the air. It rained the other day too. Strange weather. Well great coffee post, thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend.
