Waterfall #cinquain

Falling water - side stream

Water
Wispy curtains
Clothe rock in twisting threads
The cool air throbs with moist thunder
And peace

***

This was written for Colleen’s Poetry Challenge.  This week was for a specific form, the Cinquain.  I chose a version of this form that is, in order, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 1 stresses and 2, 4, 6, 8, and 2 syllables.

Thanks! The main stream, Purgatory Brook, has three large falls, but when I saw this running down to the main stream, I had to get a photo. The trailhead to the location is in Milford, NH but I think this waterfall is in Mont Vernon, NH. Actually, looking at the map, most of it might actually be in Lyndeborough, NH – it is on the border of those three towns.

Hi Colleen. My life has actually changed very little… I telecommute full time, I’m an introvert, I spend as much free time as possible outside away from people. This is a crisis custom made for me ;) Thanks. This is a stream leading into a larger stream that has three large waterfalls – great place, and the trail-head parking is close to my house!
