Last week I posted a parody of the Beatles’ song, Yesterday. Well, I decided to make it into a video:
(Click here if you don’t see the video below)
Now do you see why I usually sing with a vocoder instead of with my natural voice? ;) And, yes, I was trying to look and act a bit silly in the video – it was not supposed to be serious at all!
I tweaked my original parody a little, but not much. Here is what I sang:
Yesterday
The Covid Virus seemed so far away
Now it looks as if it’s here to stay
Oh, I believe in Yesterday
Suddenly
I’m locked inside instead of free
There’s a facemask hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly
Why I had to hide, stuck inside, I couldn’t say
I coughed, is something wrong?!??! Now I long for yesterday!
Yesterday
Meeting friends was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Why I had to hide, stuck inside, I couldn’t say
I coughed, Something’s wrong!!!! Now I long for yesterday!
Yesterday
Meeting friends was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday
MM mm mm mm mm mm
I hope you enjoyed this bit of fun :)
* Copyright for Yesterday – Lennon and McCartney (Paul McCartney wrote it, but they shared song writing credits during the Beatles). I wrote the parody words, arranged it slightly, and played and sang the song in the video.

I’m sure sir Paul would enjoy this. I certainly did! Funny without ditching the song’s melancholy and musicality. Put in on Youtube!

Thanks! I tried to change Paul’s words as little as possible, which I think (hope) helps this type of parody. Yes, it is on YouTube – the link above the embedded video goes to the YouTube page.

Thanks, Charlotte. It was a lot of fun doing this, I just need to figure out how to keep from being a bit flat… ;)

Thanks! Pretty much every Beatles’ song makes for a great sing along, even when the words are changed for a parody. Hope you have a wonderful week.

A ha ha haaaaa…. you made my day, Trent! Your expression reminds me a bit of Michael Palin [Monty Pythons]. Sad thing is that it looks like ‘Yesterday’ will never return! ;-)
Have a lovely Tuesday, my friend!

Thanks! yes, I’m sure I have watched much, much more Michael Palin than Paul McCartney, so maybe I was unconsciously being influenced that way ;) No, I don’t think Yesterday will ever return…
I hope you are having a great week!
