Perhaps today being “Star Wars” day (May the Fourth be with you…) I should have a Star Wars themed post – over the last week or two I have watched the series starting with Prequels (I – II), through the original series (IV – VI) up to Sequels VII and VIII). I am planning on watching the last one (IX) tonight or tomorrow. But no, I will save that one for later…
What I will write about is my mini-vacation/staycation. For years I have taken a few days off at the end of April. Smile one, yes, I am working at this time, telecommuting every day, and smile two, I did take two days off of work, Thursday and Friday.
I had been down on Cape Cod (I have a four season house there) since Thursday April 16. Remember my last week’s smile about it? So I worked all week from there and took the two days off.
The weather was not bad on Thursday, though it rained most of the day Friday. No matter, I spent a lot of time outside, even in the rain. I did a little work and did some writing on Friday.
The main thing, though, is that I relaxed. it was the most relaxing time I have had in months. I needed it!
My smile for this week was my little late April vacation/staycation.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small. Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile! Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones :)
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.
You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.
Now go out there and find something to smile about! :)

Time off and Star Wars too – what could be better? I finally got a chance to finish the last one last night. Not 100% sure I like where they took the sequels, but it was interesting. I will need to watch again before I decide…

I agree with you with the Star Wars saga, I am not sure I LOVE it, but I Love the original SO MUCH, I can forgive them for it turning out the way they did it. Haha, if that even makes sense. I am easily entertained, so it was all good! Here is my smile post for this week. Thank you!

I really love the original and, to a lesser extent, the original series. The prequels have grown on me, though the first is still my least favorite Star Wars. But the sequels? Yeah, I do like when they stay faithful to the Star Wars universe, but there are times – like they rarely showed planets from a low orbit, which is how the original started and became a huge trademark of the franchise. I screamed (inside ;) ) every time they showed a planet like a basketball and not from low orbit….
I’ll be by to check out your smile in a bit :)

Did you find that shell on the stretch of beach near your home Trent? It is beautiful.

Yes, this was on the beach that is closest to our house. It is the one that attracts the biggest crowds, so i was out when it was raining… I really liked this shell – I agree, it is beautiful.

That is nice shell in the photo with all those barnacles (or whatever they are) attached to it.

The shell was very cool, I wasn’t sure if a phone photo would do it justice, but I’m happy with it.

That shell is lovely, Trent. I wish I lived near the sea.

Thanks, Robbie, that shell just looked so cool I had to grab a photo. I do love being by the sea – I was always more of a mountain person, but as I grow older, I grow to appreciate the shore much more.
