Sorry I am posting this so late. I had last week off of work and to say I am super far behind would be a huge understatement. I am taking a couple of minutes while I eat lunch to put something down.
After reading that last paragraph, can you guess my smile for the week? Hint – it is not coming back to work with almost 1000 emails in my inbox ;)
That is correct – I am smiling because I had a vacation lats week!
I spent it on Cape Cod, where I have a 4-season house, so nothing huge there. I took long walks on the beach, swam most days, walked in the woods and kayaked. I had a fire in the firepit a few nights. I did some work and hired someone to paint the house, bought a new refrigerator, and had someone come by to give me an estimate on putting a roof on the barn.
I spent very little time on line and, after my smile posts, only put on post on my blog.
That is my smile – I took a vacation.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Wonderful smile! Vacation is the best! I think I need to look at doing a staycation soon as there are a lot of things I can work on at the house. My vacation days are piling up at work so I need to use them soon. Here is my smile link: Thank you Trent!

It was nice to get away, even if “getting away” meant staying at my own place… I hope you do get a chance to take some time off soon – I know you’ve been busy this year.

Your little vacation sounded so nice. What is a 4 season house? I’ve have never heard that term. If work gets over whelming just paddle around your work area in your chair pretend your in your kayak, find a happy place. haha.

It was nice :) It is just a normal house, but Cape Cod is a big summer vacation area, and most people with a second house there only use it for a few months of the year. A lot of these house aren’t well insulated, or have heaters. I sometimes say “4-season house” just to say that I go there year round, even when it stays below freezing the entire time, or there is a blizzard (There is at least one snow storm a year with hurricane force winds). So a 4 season house as opposed to a summer home.

I’m sure everyone will – I’m glad I have a safe place to go to get away! Just a FYI – for some odd reason this went to spam. I know WP sometimes does that when someone comments a lot, but I would think if it is someone I had already approved, they wouldn’t…

Glad you had a good vacation Trent. Hope your first day back to work is going well. Maybe one of the 1000 emails would give you a good laugh.

Well done, Trent, I thought you seemed scarce last week. I took Friday off and it was great. I hope to get a few days more soon.

Yes, I know about 4th of July. I hope people will be sensible and not expose themselves to risk. Enjoy it, Trent, and stay safe and well.
