I feel I am cursed
Someone put a spell on me
But then I look up
The sky fills with divine light
Rough seas, but I am content

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge. The key words this week were Hex and Blessed, but only synonyms were allowed. I did a tanka. And, OK, I chose the photo (from one I did earlier this year) and wrote the poem to fit ;)
Very nice. Love the photo.

Well done, Trent. You added some nice layers of meaning in this tanka. Those rough seas… can be tough. <3

Nicely done, Trent. Those were challenging synonyms!

Thanks, Diana. They were difficult, and doubly so to not use them in to cliched of a way….
